Design and Exterior Features

The Exter HX 6 offers several styling upgrades over lower trims. It features bi-function projector headlights and LED daytime running lights, replacing the halogen units found in entry variants. The front includes a black radiator grille, a silver skid plate, and Hyundai lettering. The HX 6 rides on 15-inch dual-tone styled steel wheels, which are more appealing than the smaller rims on lower variants. However, dual-tone alloy wheels are available only from the HX 8 variant onwards.
Additional exterior features include wheel arch cladding, roof rails, and LED turn indicators on the ORVMs. At the rear, the HX 6 has LED tail lamps, a rear spoiler (on petrol variants), and a shark fin antenna, enhancing its sporty and premium appearance. The HX 6, along with the HX 10, is available in all color options offered for the Exter.
Interior and Comfort Features

The cabin of the HX 6 continues with a dual-tone navy and grey theme and semi-fabric upholstery. It includes adjustable headrests, driver seat height adjustment, and a folding driver armrest for added convenience. The variant also provides a parcel tray (petrol variants) and front and rear charging ports. While it lacks some premium touches like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, footwell lighting, and metal pedals, the HX 6 offers a well-equipped interior for its price.
Technology and Convenience
The HX 6 features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It includes front and rear speakers, steering-mounted controls, push-button start, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, rear AC vents, and electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs. Practical features such as front and rear power windows, Type-C charging ports for both rows, cruise control (petrol only), and paddle shifters with the AMT option are also present. Premium features like a wireless phone charger, cooled glovebox, and automatic headlights are reserved for higher variants.
Safety and Powertrain Options
The HX 6 builds on a solid safety foundation. It comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and hill hold control. Additional safety features include a rear parking camera, dashcam, tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear defogger. A rear wiper and washer are available only from the HX 8 variant onwards.
The HX 6 is available with all Exter powertrain options: a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.2-litre petrol with CNG, and both 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated-manual transmissions.
Pricing and Value
The Hyundai Exter HX 6 is priced from Rs 7.95 lakh to Rs 8.94 lakh. It offers a strong balance of essential features, comfort, and safety without the higher cost of top-end variants. The HX 6 addresses most gaps found in lower trims and provides all major powertrain choices, making it a practical and sensible option within the Exter lineup.
