Multiple test mules have been observed over the past few months, indicating that Hyundai is in the advanced stages of development. These sightings have highlighted several updates, including changes to the vehicle’s design elements and feature set, as the brand aims to maintain the Verna’s competitive edge in the midsize sedan segment.

Interior and Feature Upgrades

The most recent images of the Verna facelift showcase the interior without any camouflage, providing a clear view of the new features. A notable addition is the updated steering wheel, which features four dots representing the letter 'H' in Morse Code. This design element was first introduced with the new Hyundai Venue and is intended to add a more premium feel to the cockpit.

Another significant update is the presence of dual screens, which may be larger than those on the current model. The top variant of the existing Verna is equipped with dual 10.25-inch displays—one for the HD audio video navigation system and another for the digital instrument cluster. The facelifted version is expected to retain or possibly upgrade these screens, enhancing the digital experience for occupants.

Interior images also reveal a sporty black theme with red accents, suggesting that this popular interior option will continue to be offered. The current Verna also provides a dual-tone beige and black interior for those seeking a more classic look. Ambient lighting on the dashboard and door trims, already available in the current model, is expected to be carried forward, possibly with additional customization options.

Hyundai is likely to retain and enhance several premium features in the new Verna. These include leather seat upholstery, front ventilated seats, a powered driver’s seat, a voice-enabled smart electric sunroof, and a smart key with push-button start. The sedan is also equipped with an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, the Bluelink connected car suite, Home to Car (H2C) functionality with Alexa integration, and a wired-to-wireless adapter for increased convenience.

Exterior Design and Powertrain Details

On the exterior, the Verna facelift is expected to receive updates to its lighting elements, front grille, and bumper. Earlier test mules have been spotted with sharper LED daytime running lights (DRLs) while maintaining the top-mounted configuration. The side profile appears largely unchanged, including the design of the alloy wheels. There may be minor updates to the rear, although it remains uncertain if the tail lamps will see significant modifications.

Under the hood, the facelifted Verna is expected to continue with the current range of powertrains. The test vehicle displayed ‘1.5 Turbo’ badging at the rear, confirming the presence of the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque, and is currently offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The existing Verna also offers a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, generating 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). These options are expected to be retained in the facelifted model, providing buyers with a range of choices to suit different driving preferences.

Market Position and Pricing

The Hyundai Verna facelift will continue to compete with established rivals in the midsize sedan segment, including the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia. All of these competing models are also scheduled to receive updates later in the year, intensifying competition in this category.

With the introduction of new features and design enhancements, the Verna facelift could see a slight adjustment in pricing. The current model is available at prices ranging from Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 17.13 lakh (ex-showroom). Final pricing for the facelifted version will be announced closer to the launch date.

In summary, the upcoming Hyundai Verna facelift is set to bring a host of updates to both its exterior and interior, while retaining its established powertrain options. The model is expected to build on its reputation for offering premium features and competitive performance, further strengthening Hyundai’s position in the midsize sedan market.
