2026 Ninja 650: Updates
The Ninja 650 carries a design similar to its predecessor. The 2025 version features a sporty stance with sharp lines and a full LED lighting setup that improves visibility during night rides. A key update for the 2026 model is the addition of a 4.3-inch TFT display, with smartphone connectivity allowing riders to access essential riding information easily. The bike focuses on practical and usable upgrades rather than a complete overhaul.
In India, the Ninja 650 MY26 is available in a single Lime Green colour option, while the previous version retained its existing colour choices, which included Lime Green paired with Ebony, along with a Pearl Blizzard White option.
Engine and Performance

The bike draws power from a 649-cc parallel-twin engine that produces 67 bhp of power and 64 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox along with an assist-and-slipper clutch, providing smooth shifts and engaging rides. The bike can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 212 kmph. The Ninja 650 remains a go-to choice for enthusiasts who want sporty styling with strong performance.
Safety and Specifications
In terms of safety, the 2026 Ninja 650 comes equipped with traction control, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), dual throttle valves, and two riding modes. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, with 300 mm at the front and 200 mm at the rear. This combined braking setup with ABS provides sharp stopping power and confidence on the road.
The Ninja 650 uses a high-strength steel trellis frame, and for suspension, it offers a 41 mm telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock, which together provide a balanced and comfortable ride. The bike has a kerb weight of 196 kg, a 790 mm seat height, 130 mm ground clearance, and a 15-litre fuel tank. Overall, the bike feels stable, manageable, and sporty, continuing to be a sensible option for riders stepping into the middleweight sportbike segment.

Verdict
Overall, the latest iteration of the Ninja 650 leans more toward refinement than reinvention. Instead of drastic changes, Kawasaki has focused on meaningful enhancements that improve everyday usability and modern appeal. The motorcycle continues to suit riders seeking a balanced blend of performance, comfort, and confidence, making it a dependable step-up option in the mid-capacity sportbike space.
