2026 Renault Kwid Facelift India launch on July 3 with new features
Renault is gearing up to introduce the updated Kwid in India with a refreshed design, enhanced features, and improved value appeal for entry-level hatchback buyers.

The 2026 Renault Kwid facelift will launch in India on July 3, 2026. Renault has confirmed the date as the model prepares for its first major update since its 2015 debut. Spy images of the facelifted Kwid have surfaced, revealing key changes ahead of the official launch.
Key Highlights
- 2026 Renault Kwid facelift launches in India on July 3.
- New Y-shaped LED DRLs and updated rear styling revealed.
- Expected features include a 10-inch touchscreen and wireless smartphone connectivity.
- Safety updates may include a reinforced chassis and front parking sensors.
- The expected starting price is Rs 4.5 lakh ex-showroom.
Exterior and Design Updates

The new 2026 Renault Kwid facelift draws design cues from the Dacia Spring, which is available in Europe. The front features new Y-shaped LED daytime running lights connected by a slim grille with the Renault logo. The headlamps are now positioned on the upper half of the front bumper, though it is unclear if they will use LED technology. The lower bumper includes large black cladding and an air dam. The car retains a single windshield wiper.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, but the wheel covers have a new design. It is not confirmed if alloy wheels will be available. The wheel arches have prominent cladding, giving the Kwid a compact SUV appearance. The C-pillar may include a new black styling accent, based on the test vehicle.
The rear of the updated Kwid is expected to see the most significant changes. The tail lamps adopt the Y-shaped theme and are larger, incorporating reverse and indicator lights. The rear glass will now feature a wiper with a wash function.
Interior Features and Technology
The Kwid has been a budget-friendly choice for buyers seeking alternatives to the Maruti Suzuki Alto. For 2026, Renault is expected to introduce a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 7-inch digital driver’s display is also likely. Additional features may include automatic climate control, push-button engine start, and wireless charging. It is not confirmed if connected car features, available on the Dacia Spring in Europe, will be offered in India.
Safety and Mechanical Details
The current Kwid offers a safety package with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, traction control, hill-hold control, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. The facelift may add a reinforced chassis for improved crash protection, front parking sensors, and rear fog lamps.
The 2026 Kwid is expected to continue with the 1-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an automated manual gearbox. The current specifications are a 1-liter petrol engine with either manual or AMT transmission.
Pricing and Competition
The updated Kwid is expected to start at Rs 4.5 lakh ex-showroom, about Rs 20,000 more than the current model. In India, the Kwid competes with the Maruti Suzuki Alto, S-Presso, and the recently updated Tata Tiago.

The July 3 launch will reveal how Renault balances modern updates with value, making the Kwid an even more compelling choice for first-time car buyers in India.
