2026 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo Launched With Sporty Design and New Features

Skoda has launched the 2026 Kushaq Monte Carlo in India, with prices starting at Rs 17.89 lakh for the 1-litre engine and Rs 18.99 lakh for the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The Monte Carlo edition introduces subtle exterior and interior updates, new features, and a new transmission option. The sportier Monte Carlo variant is now available from launch, offering a distinct look compared to the standard Kushaq.

Exterior and Interior Updates

The Kushaq Monte Carlo features modernised styling while retaining the elegant design of the standard model. The front includes LED headlights with sleek DRLs and a Piano Black grille accented by two red slats. The all-black bumper and red brake callipers inside 17-inch alloy wheels add sporty elements. Black roof rails with a 50kg load capacity and black ORVMs further distinguish the profile. At the rear, the Monte Carlo badge with a race flag motif and all-black bumper set it apart. Connected LED tail lights and illuminated SKODA lettering remain from the standard Kushaq.

The Monte Carlo is the only Kushaq variant offering a dual-tone roof option. Skoda provides eight exterior colour choices for the 2026 Kushaq, but only seven are available for the Monte Carlo edition. The interior adopts an all-black theme with red accents on the dashboard and door trims. Chrome inserts and aluminum pedals add to the sporty feel. The all-black seats feature contrasting red inserts and 'Monte Carlo' lettering on the headrests. The layout and design remain unchanged, with features like a two-spoke floating steering wheel and hexagonal AC vents.

Features and Powertrain Options

The Monte Carlo builds on the top-spec Prestige variant, offering a comprehensive feature package. Standard features include keyless entry, push button start/stop, auto AC, rear AC vents, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The variant also provides a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, rear seat massager, a 6-speaker Skoda sound system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Safety features include 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, rear wiper and defogger, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure warning system, and auto-dimming IRVM. Higher variants offer anti-theft alarm, front parking sensors, and rear disc brakes for the 1.5-litre engine. The Kushaq does not include advanced driving assistance system features. The pre-facelift Kushaq received a 5-star Global NCAP rating in 2022.

The Monte Carlo is available only with automatic transmission but offers both the 1-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The 1.5-litre engine suits those seeking enthusiastic driving or frequent highway use, while the 1-litre engine is adequate for mixed city and highway driving.

Market Position and Rivals

The Kushaq Monte Carlo competes with the Hyundai Creta N Line, Renault Duster, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Grand Vitara/Toyota Hyryder. The Monte Carlo does not add extra features over the top-spec variant but offers unique sporty styling for a premium of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000.
