The Tata Tiago, Tata Motors’ entry-level hatchback, is set for a major update. The 2026 Tiago facelift has been seen testing on Indian roads. The heavily camouflaged test vehicle suggests significant changes in design, features, and possibly the powertrain. This update is expected to help the Tiago stay competitive against rivals like the Maruti Swift, Citroen C3, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.

Exterior and Interior Changes

The facelifted Tiago is likely to receive several exterior updates. At the front, the car may feature a slimmer grille, redesigned headlamps, and a new bumper. The side profile will mostly remain unchanged, but new alloy wheel designs are expected to give it a fresh look. At the rear, visible changes include a redesigned tailgate, new LED taillamps, and a flatter bumper. Tata Motors may also introduce new color options, continuing a trend seen with the Sierra and Punch models.

Although the interior was not visible during testing, the Tiago facelift is expected to get a refreshed dashboard. Likely upgrades include a digital instrument cluster and an improved touchscreen infotainment system. A touch-based climate control panel, similar to other Tata models, may also be added. Feature enhancements could include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, an upgraded sound system with more speakers, and ambient lighting. Engine Options and Safety Features

The Tiago facelift will likely retain its current engine options. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2-litre petrol engine with CNG. Tata Motors may introduce a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, following the approach taken with the Punch facelift.

On the safety front, the updated Tiago may offer up to six airbags and a 360-degree camera. Other expected safety features include electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill start assist. The 2026 Tata Tiago facelift is expected to launch by the third quarter of this year. There is no official confirmation from Tata Motors yet. Prices for the updated Tiago may increase slightly compared to the current range of Rs 4.57 lakh to Rs 7.82 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift aims to strengthen the Tiago's position in the competitive hatchback market.
