2027 KTM 790 Duke unveiled with bold design updates and advanced features

The 2027 KTM 790 Duke has been revealed for international markets, bringing several significant updates. The new model features a sharper and more aggressive design, drawing inspiration from the KTM 1390 Duke. Notable changes include a fang-shaped LED headlight and DRL cluster, pronounced cuts and creases on the fuel tank extensions, and an upswept tail section.

The indicators and tail lights are now combined into a single unit. KTM has also introduced bold graphics and a bright orange color option, which remains a signature for the brand. A redesigned exhaust system with a larger silencer further distinguishes the new model.

Chassis and Suspension Updates

The 2027 KTM 790 Duke retains the chromium-molybdenum steel frame from the previous version. However, it now features a new black-finished subframe and minor tweaks to the swingarm. The suspension system has been upgraded with a 43mm WP Apex USD fork at the front, which offers adjustability for compression and rebound.

At the rear, a monoshock provides preload and rebound adjustability. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. Braking is managed by 300mm twin discs at the front with WP brake calipers and a WP master cylinder, while the rear uses a 240mm single disc setup. The motorcycle weighs 185 kg, making it 2 kg lighter than the outgoing model.

Engine, Ergonomics, and Features

The KTM 790 Duke continues to use the 799cc parallel-twin LC8c engine. This engine produces 105 HP and 87 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. KTM has revised the rider's triangle with a new seat design, repositioned footpegs, and a tapered handlebar that can be adjusted for a more committed riding posture

The feature list includes all-LED lighting, a new color TFT display, multiple ride modes, and traction control. The model is offered with a 4-year warranty, addressing previous concerns about reliability and ownership experience. The 2027 KTM 790 Duke will soon be available in international markets, but its reintroduction to India remains unconfirmed.
