Key Highlights

  • Ajax Engineering's FY26 profit after tax fell 13 percent to Rs 225 crore
  • Revenue from operations rose 1 percent to Rs 2103 crore despite higher production costs
  • EBITDA margin contracted to 12.6 percent for the year but improved to 15.1 percent in Q4

  • Market share in self-loading concrete mixers rose to 73.5 percent by end of FY26

Financial Performance Overview

The concreting equipment manufacturer posted an EBITDA of Rs 266 crore for FY26, representing a 16% decrease compared to the previous year. The EBITDA margin contracted by 270 basis points to 12.6%. Higher production costs, mainly from adopting new emission standards, weighed on overall profitability.

For the fourth quarter ending March 2026, Ajax Engineering reported a PAT of Rs 95 crore, up from Rs 91 crore in the same period last year. Quarterly revenue stood at Rs 758 crore, nearly unchanged from Rs 756 crore in Q4 FY25. EBITDA for the quarter increased by around 4% year-on-year to Rs 115 crore. The EBITDA margin improved by 40 basis points to 15.1%, supported by operational efficiencies, disciplined execution, operating leverage, and careful pricing actions.

Business Segment Performance

Ajax Engineering stated that demand for its CEV-V compliant product portfolio remained strong during the quarter. Healthy secondary sales momentum supported this demand. The company’s non-self-loading concrete mixer (non-SLCM) business recorded 7% year-on-year growth in FY26. Revenue from spares and services rose by 9%, helping diversify the company’s revenue streams.

Ajax Engineering regained market share in the self-loading concrete mixer (SLCM) segment, reaching 73.5% by the end of FY26. This recovery followed the complete phase-out of older emission-standard machines and a gradual improvement in demand during the fourth quarter.

Management Commentary and Outlook

Managing Director and CEO Shubhabrata Saha said the company navigated a challenging operating environment. He cited slower infrastructure capital expenditure and higher costs from the shift to CEV-V emission norms as key hurdles. Saha expressed confidence in the company’s long-term growth prospects, supported by ongoing infrastructure development and rising adoption of mechanized concreting equipment in India.

Ajax Engineering plans to focus on strengthening its leadership in the SLCM portfolio. The company also aims to expand its non-SLCM business and improve profitability through operational discipline and pricing measures.

CarBike 360 Says

Ajax Engineering’s FY26 performance reflects the growing strain of rising input and operational costs on profitability. While demand fundamentals remain steady, margin pressures have clearly weighed on earnings. Moving forward, cost optimization and pricing strategies will be crucial. The company’s ability to navigate inflationary challenges will determine how effectively it can restore growth momentum in the coming quarters.
