Volkswagen Tayron Life launched in India at Rs 41.99 lakh

Volkswagen India has introduced the Tayron Life, a premium five‑seater SUV that blends spaciousness, technology and German engineering for urban families and lifestyle buyers, priced at Rs 41.99 Lakh (ex‑showroom) in India.

Updated Design

​The Tayron Life wears Volkswagen’s contemporary design language with a confident road presence, full LED headlamps, illuminated grille and 18‑inch “Bologna” alloys that give it a premium stance. Built on generous proportions – a 4,792 mm length and a 2,789 mm wheelbase – the Tayron Life focuses on everyday usability, offering 885 litres of boot space expandable to 2,090 litres for long trips and flexible cargo needs.

Interiors and Technology

Inside, the cabin prioritises comfort and refinement with ergoActive front seats (12‑way adjustment, heating, ventilation and an eight‑program massage), a panoramic sunroof and clever touches such as retractable rear sunblinds and multiple USB ports.

Volkswagen equips the Tayron Life with a large digital cockpit and infotainment duo — a 26.03 cm Digital Cockpit and a 32.77 cm Discover screen — plus an eight‑speaker audio system and wireless charging for two phones to keep modern families connected.

The SUV also features IDA Digital Voice Assistant, wireless and wired App‑Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and convenience features like keyless access, a powered tailgate with a foot sensor and passenger seat adjustment via the driver’s infotainment controls.

Engine and Performance

Under the bonnet sits a 2.0‑litre TSI EVO petrol engine that produces 204 PS and 320 Nm, sent through a 7‑speed DSG gearbox and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all‑wheel‑drive system for composed performance in varied conditions.

The Tayron Life rides on independent front McPherson struts and a multi-link rear setup designed to balance ride comfort and controlled handling across city roads and highways.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety is a cornerstone. The Volkswagen Tayron Life comes with nine airbags and a comprehensive Level‑2 ADAS package that bundles 14 functions, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, blind‑spot detection and lane‑keeping systems.

Additional aids such as ISOFIX anchors, tyre‑pressure monitoring, electronic stability control and XDS electronic differential lock add layers of passive and active protection.

Practicality is emphasised through features such as two‑step reclining and sliding second‑row seats, a large and configurable boot, multiple driver profiles (Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual, Offroad, and Snow) and comfort amenities like three‑zone climate control and rear AC vents with independent temperature settings.
