Network Expansion and Market Share
The Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer reported that this retail growth helped increase its national market share to 18.7 percent in March 2026. This data is based on Vahan registration records. Ather focused its expansion on Middle India, which includes Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. The company also targeted regions outside its established southern base. These areas saw nearly a twofold increase in market share during the period.
The company’s strategy included entering Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This broader approach contributed to significant market share gains and improved visibility in new markets.
Product Performance and Future Plans

Ather attributed much of its volume growth to the Ather Rizta, a family-oriented scooter launched in 2024. Since its introduction, the Rizta has sold over 2.8 lakh units. The company’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela, stated that the retail expansion was a deliberate growth lever. He emphasized that Middle India received focused attention and that the company plans to continue expanding in the coming quarters.
In addition to retail outlets, Ather surpassed 500 authorised service centres last month. Its proprietary fast-charging network, Ather Grid, reached over 4,357 charging points globally as of December 31, 2025. These developments support Ather’s growing customer base and enhance its service infrastructure.
Ather Energy’s expansion reflects its commitment to increasing accessibility and market presence across India. The company aims to maintain its growth trajectory by further strengthening its retail and service networks.
