Ather Expands Line-up with New Rizta S 3.7 kWh Variant

​Ather Energy has made another move into expanding their scooter line-up by introducing a new variant of the Rizta S, which is now available with an increased battery capacity of 3.7 kWh. The new variant of the Rizta S is available at an ex-showroom price of INR 1.37 lakhs and is INR 13,000 less expensive than the top-variant Rizta Z with a similar battery capacity.

Bookings and Deliveries Timeline

Bookings for the new Rizta S are now open through online and Ather showrooms alike. The deliveries of the same are scheduled to commence later this month.

Range and Performance

The Rizta S was previously available in a battery capacity of 2.9 kWh and now will feature a 3.7 kWh battery along with offering a claimed IDC range of 159 km in a fully charged state. The new Rizta S is powered by a similar motor and delivers a top speed of 80 km/h.

Features

Ather has reduced some features in the new Rizta S, such as the TFT touchscreen, to sell the model at an affordable price. However, the included features are a 7-inch DeepView LCD display, auto hold, turn-by-turn navigation, an emergency stop signal, and more.

Hardware and Suspension Setup

Talking about the new Rizta S’ hardware, it features a telescopic fork at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear. The braking system is managed by a 200 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear, along with a combined braking system (CBS).

Storage, Warranty, and Charging Support

The practical features of the new Rizta S are the similar 34-litre underseat storage along with an additional 22-litre front frunk. This model is covered under Ather’s 8-year or 80,000 km battery warranty, which guarantees a minimum of 70% battery health during the customer’s ownership period. The new Rizta S is also compatible with Ather’s wide fast charging network known as the Ather Grid, which is now present in over 3900 locations across India.
