Audi E5 Sportback EV Revealed With 770 Km Range

Audi's EV sub-brand in China, AUDI, has officially unveiled the E5 Sportback in Shanghai. It's the first production model from the company that is based on new underpinnings developed by SAIC. The Audi E5 Sportback is claimed to have a 0-100 km/h speed of 3.4 seconds and can achieve a maximum range of 370 km in just 10 minutes of fast charging. The EV also features a 27-inch 4K display spanning the driver's dashboard.

Audi has offered four electric powertrain configurations, delivering 300 hp, 408 hp, 578 hp, and 787 hp, respectively. The entry-level trim comes with a rear-mounted motor, while the top-spec variant features four-wheel drive and is badged Quattro. In terms of performance, the top-spec variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The German automaker claims a maximum range of 770 km for this electric vehicle on a single charge, equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack. The E5 Sportback EV supports 800W ultra-fast charging, and the battery can deliver a range of 370 km in just 10 minutes.

Instead of a four-ring emblem, the new Audi electric gets an AUDI lettermark. As showcased in the Audi E Concept, the E5 Sportback production model has remained largely unchanged from its original design. It features a minimalist look and functional black loop circles on the front and rear of the EV. The E5 Sportback EV also houses LED lights, including Matrix headlights, sensors, air curtains, and radars. This luxury electric vehicle from Audi has a length of 4,881 mm, a width of 1,959 mm, and a height of 1,478 mm.

Audi has almost replaced the physical buttons to make the cabin space more technologically equipped and advanced. It has a 27-inch 4K display that spans the entire dashboard width. Drivers need to access vehicle features through the touchscreen provided on the dashboard. The screen runs on Audi OS and features a customizable screen layout, ensuring a personalized user experience. The Audi E5 Sportback also has an Audi 360-assisted driving system featuring a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, three long-range radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and multiple cameras for an advanced autonomous driving experience.
