India’s 7-seater market stayed highly competitive in June 2026, with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga retaining the top spot at 16,111 units and Mahindra continuing to dominate the upper end of the chart. The latest sales report shows a broad mix of strong volume leaders, fast-growing nameplates, and a few premium models facing softer demand.

What stands out most is how spread out the rankings are across mainstream family movers, rugged SUVs, and a handful of premium MPVs and crossovers. Several models posted healthy year-on-year growth, while others saw a correction from last year, reflecting changing buyer priorities in a segment where practicality, brand trust, and feature value matter most.

Best-Selling 7-Seater Cars in June 2026

The Indian automotive brands face fierce competition in the 7-seater MPV market. In June 2026, the MPV segment sold around 78,640 units, which is more than 67, 416 units sold in June 2025. These sales figures show a Y-o-Y growth of 16.6% in the Indian market. The numbers underline a market that remains resilient, especially for vehicles that balance space, road presence, and everyday usability.

The segment-share data adds another layer to the story, showing how concentrated demand remains at the top. The Ertiga alone accounted for 20.5% of the segment, while Scorpio and XUV 7XO also held sizable shares, reinforcing Mahindra’s influence in the seven-seater space. Let's take a closer look at the top 20 best-selling 7-seater cars that are sold in the Indian automotive market.

Rank 1: Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga continued to lead the seven-seater sales race with 16,111 units in June 2026, up 13.9% from 14,151 units a year earlier. Its 20.5% segment share shows just how deeply it continues to resonate with family buyers and fleet customers alike. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga shows its main strength in its practical packaging, broad service reach, and strong value proposition, which together keep it firmly ahead of the pack.

Rank 2: Mahindra Scorpio

Mahindra’s Scorpio followed closely with 14,097 units, rising 10.7% year on year from 12,740 units. With a 17.9% share of the segment, it remains one of the most influential SUVs in the category. The Mahindra Scorpio continues to benefit from its tough-road image, strong brand recall, and the kind of presence that appeals to buyers looking for a commanding, no-nonsense seven-seater.

Rank 3: Mahindra XUV 7XO

The Mahindra XUV 7XO posted a standout performance with 9,244 units, reflecting a sharp 49.1% jump over the 6,198 units sold in June 2025. Its 11.8% share marks it as one of the fastest-growing products in the segment. This kind of growth suggests that buyers are responding well to its modern positioning, premium appeal, and the strength of Mahindra’s current SUV portfolio.

Rank 4: Mahindra Bolero

Mahindra’s Bolero stayed relevant with 9,115 units in June 2026, up 21.9% from 7,478 units last year. It commanded an 11.6% segment share, proving that enduring utility still has a strong audience in India. The Mahindra Bolero remains a familiar name for buyers who value durability, ruggedness, and dependable performance in a straightforward, workhorse-style package.

Rank 5: Toyota Innova + Hycross

Toyota Innova + Hycross delivered 7,332 units, although that was down 16.7% from 8,802 units in June 2025. Even so, the model retained a solid 9.3% share, which shows that demand for Toyota’s family-oriented MPV and crossover offering remains meaningful. The drop may reflect stronger competition and changing purchase cycles, but the Innova name still carries considerable weight in this segment.

Rank 6: Kia Carens + Clavis

The Kia Carens + Clavis logged 4,847 units in June 2026, down 38.8% from 7,921 units last year. With a 6.2% segment share, it still holds a notable place in the market, especially among buyers who want feature-rich, flexible seating options. The numbers suggest a softer month, but the model continues to be an important player in the value-plus-premium MPV space.

Rank 7: Mahindra XEV 9S

Mahindra 9S entered the chart with 4,018 units and a 5.1% segment share, making it one of the notable fresh contributors in the rankings. Since it had no comparable sales base in June 2025, the year-on-year field is not applicable. Its debut in the monthly ranking suggests that Mahindra’s broader SUV and utility portfolio is still finding new ways to capture demand.

Rank 8: Maruti Suzuki XL6

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 sold 2,711 units in June 2026, up 34.8% from 2,011 units a year earlier. Its 3.4% share may be modest in volume terms, but the growth rate is encouraging. The XL6 continues to appeal to buyers who want a more premium take on practical seven-seat mobility, especially within Maruti’s trusted ecosystem.

Rank 9: Toyota Fortuner

Toyota Fortuner recorded 2,514 units, slipping 8.3% from 2,743 units in June 2025. Despite the dip, it still held a 3.2% share, which reflects the model’s long-standing position in the premium SUV space. The Fortuner remains a benchmark for buyers who want a large, capable, and aspirational seven-seater with strong brand equity.

Rank 10: Toyota Rumion

The Toyota Rumion posted 2,376 units, showing strong 67.9% growth over 1,415 units in June 2025. With a 3.0% share, it emerged as one of the better growth stories in the second half of the top 10. The model appears to be steadily building traction with buyers seeking a practical, accessible people mover carrying Toyota’s badge and reputation.

Rank 11: Renault Triber

Renault Triber sold 1,871 units in June 2026, up 31.7% from 1,421 units last year. Its 2.4% share shows that the compact MPV continues to carve out a space for itself among cost-conscious family buyers. The Triber’s flexible layout and accessible positioning remain key reasons for its continued presence in this competitive field.

Rank 12: Nissan Gravite

Nissan Gravite entered the list with 1,839 units and a 2.3% segment share. Since there were no June 2025 sales shown for comparison, the year-on-year figure is not applicable. Its appearance in the ranking suggests that Nissan is still finding visibility in the multi-seat segment, even as competition intensifies around it.

Rank 13: Tata Safari

The Tata Safari moved 1,271 units in June 2026, up 37.9% from 922 units last year. It held a 1.6% share, which is modest in context but still meaningful for a premium domestic SUV. The Safari continues to appeal to buyers who want a strong road presence, a familiar brand, and a more aspirational three-row SUV experience.

Rank 14: MG Majestor

MG Majestor sold 587 units in June 2026, contributing a 0.7% share to the segment. With no year-ago sales figure available, the model is effectively a new or newly tracked entrant in this report. Its presence in the table indicates MG’s interest in the three-row SUV and premium utility space, where differentiation matters more than ever.

Rank 15: Hyundai Alcazar

The Hyundai Alcazar recorded 304 units in June 2026, sharply lower than 1,174 units a year earlier, translating to a 74.1% decline. Its 0.4% share reflects a difficult month for the model in a highly contested category. Even so, the Alcazar remains important for Hyundai as a premium three-row option that bridges the gap between mainstream utility and comfort-focused family motoring.

Rank 16: Toyota Vellfire

Toyota’s Vellfire sold 140 units in June 2026, down 10.3% from 156 units last year. Its 0.2% segment share places it firmly in the luxury niche, where volume is never the main story. The Vellfire continues to serve affluent buyers who prioritize cabin comfort, prestige, and a highly differentiated MPV experience.

Rank 17: Skoda Kodiaq

The Skoda Kodiaq posted 106 units in June 2026, down 18.5% from 130 units in June 2025. With a 0.1% share, it remains a niche premium SUV, but one with a clear identity. The Kodiaq’s appeal is rooted in European styling, polished road manners, and a more refined alternative to mainstream three-row SUVs.

Rank 18: Jeep Meridian

Jeep’s Meridian sold 84 units in June 2026, down 21.5% from 107 units a year earlier. Its 0.1% share shows that it continues to face a tough market, despite the strength of the Jeep badge. The Meridian remains relevant to buyers seeking a more premium, rugged, and lifestyle-oriented seven-seater.

Rank 19: Volkswagen Tayron R-Line

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line registered 43 units in June 2026, with no comparable sales base shown for June 2025. It held a 0.1% segment share, placing it at the lower end of the chart but still within the reported market. The Tayron’s inclusion points to expanding premium SUV choices, even if volumes are still at an early stage.

Rank 20: Kia Carnival

The Kia Carnival closed the list with 30 units in June 2026, down 36.2% from 47 units last year. Its 0.0% rounded share highlights its ultra-premium positioning and limited-volume role in the market. Even at these numbers, the Carnival continues to occupy a distinct space for buyers seeking a large, luxurious people mover with strong comfort credentials.
