Key Highlights
- BMW F 450 GS launched in India in three variants starting at Rs 4.70 lakh
- Exclusive variant offers best balance of features and value for most buyers
- GS Trophy variant includes adjustable suspension and Easy Ride Clutch at higher price
BMW F 450 GS Variant Overview
The Basic variant comes equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display, ABS, traction control, and heated grips. It is available only in the Cosmic Black color. This entry-level model provides essential features for those on a budget.
The Exclusive variant, positioned in the middle of the range, adds a plastic bash plate, knuckle guards, and a tall windscreen. It also includes Riding Modes Pro and Shift Assistant Pro as standard equipment. This variant offers more electronic features and protection compared to the Basic model.
The top-end GS Trophy variant features adjustable suspension, unique paintwork, an aluminium bash plate, and the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC). The GS Trophy is priced at Rs. 5.30 lakh ex-showroom, translating to over Rs. 6.5 lakh on-road. This variant targets riders seeking advanced features and convenience.
Choosing the Right Variant
The Exclusive variant stands out as the most balanced choice for most buyers. It provides essential electronic aids, a manual clutch, and adequate underbody protection. While it lacks adjustable suspension, BMW may offer this as an accessory in the future. The aluminium bash plate is also available as an accessory or through aftermarket options.
The Exclusive variant is currently offered only in black. Riders seeking more color options may need to consider aftermarket wraps or wait for future updates from BMW. The GS Trophy variant, while more expensive, justifies its price for those who want the ERC and distinctive styling. However, riders using the ERC should adjust their riding technique to avoid excessive clutch wear.
The Basic variant is best suited for buyers on a strict budget or those uninterested in advanced ride modes or quickshifter features. It serves as a solid platform for adding accessories such as crash protection, saddle stays, top box racks, and fog lights.
