BMW Motorrad has introduced the limited-period Dark edition of the R 1300 GS Adventure in France. The motorcycle is priced at €22,900, which is approximately Rs. 25.49 lakh. This makes it €1,700, or about Rs. 1.89 lakh, more expensive than the standard R 1300 GS Adventure. The Dark edition will be available for purchase in France until 30 June, 2026. There are currently no plans to launch this edition in India.

The R 1300 GS Adventure Dark edition stands out with its unique visual enhancements. It features the Triple Black style, black spoked wheels, and black-painted scoops on the tank. The motorcycle also comes with a high-tinted windshield, tinted deflectors, and heated seats for both rider and passenger. An alarm system is included as standard.
All features from the standard model are retained. These include Dynamic Cruise Control, Dynamic Traction Control, ABS, and four riding modes: Eco, Rain, Road, and Enduro. Additional equipment includes heated grips and extra LED spotlights.
Performance and Specifications
The R 1300 GS Adventure is powered by a 1,300cc boxer-twin engine. This motor delivers 145bhp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission, supporting both on-road and off-road capabilities.
The motorcycle features a robust metal main frame and an aluminium lattice tube rear frame. BMW's Telelever and Paralever EVO suspension systems manage the ride. The suspension is electronically adjustable, and Dynamic Suspension Adjustment is standard on this edition.
The Adventure version is designed for long-distance travel, featuring a large 30-litre fuel tank and boxy styling. These elements make it suitable for extended journeys and varied terrain.
Availability and Market Position
The R 1300 GS Adventure Dark edition is available exclusively in France until mid-2026. Its higher price reflects the added features and unique styling. The model continues BMW Motorrad's tradition of offering versatile, full-size adventure motorcycles for global markets.
