The BSA Scrambler 650 uses a 652cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 45.6bhp and 55Nm of torque. In comparison, the Bear 659 is powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine producing 46.8bhp and 56.5Nm. The Bear 659 offers a six-speed gearbox, while the BSA Scrambler 650 comes with a five-speed transmission. Both motorcycles feature a slipper clutch for smoother gear changes.

Features and Technology

The BSA Scrambler 650 comes with switchable dual-channel ABS, an LCD instrument cluster, LED lighting, and a USB charger. It also includes traction control, which is not available on the Bear 659. The Bear 659 stands out with a round TFT screen that supports smartphone connectivity and screen mirroring for navigation. It also features a USB charging port and switchable dual-channel ABS.

Chassis, Suspension, and Brakes

Both motorcycles use a tubular steel dual-cradle frame and ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels with tube-type tyres. The Bear 659 is equipped with premium USD front forks, while the BSA Scrambler 650 uses traditional telescopic forks. Both bikes have dual spring suspension at the rear and similar-sized disc brakes at both ends.

Dimensions and Pricing

The BSA Scrambler 650 weighs 208kg, while the Bear 659 is heavier at 216kg. Ground clearance is 187mm for the BSA and 184mm for the Bear. Seat height is 820mm on the BSA, making it more accessible, while the Bear offers a 10mm taller saddle at 830mm. The BSA Scrambler 650 is more affordable, starting at Rs. 3.26 lakh, compared to the Bear 659’s starting price of Rs. 3.75 lakh.
