To spread awareness on women empowerment and gender equality on Women’s Day, BSF’s “All Women” bikers are heading for a grand expedition on their bikes throughout the country.

According to the statement issued by the Border Security Force (BSF), an ‘all-women bikers’ team will embark on an expedition from Delhi to Kanyakumari on International Women’s Day. The ‘Seema Bhawani Shaurya Expedition Empowerment Ride 2022’ will be flagged off from India Gate on March 8 and will be led by Inspector Himanshu Sirohi on a journey of 5280km covering all major cities up to Kanyakumari and commencing in Chennai, spreading the message of Women Empowerment throughout the nation.
The bikes they will be riding on will be Royal Enfield bikes considering the long ride comfort and power which is required in different terrains.

Raised in 2016 by the country’s largest border guarding force and on the lines of their much-acclaimed male counterparts, the all-women daredevil team has members from all three professional uniformed services such as the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy chosen by the BSF trainers. They have had some amazing and praiseworthy achievements to their credit including some great performances on the Republic Day parade of 2018 and 2022 at Rajpath, Delhi.
In association with Royal Enfield, this expedition will cover major and historic landmarks of India starting from India Gate then to Attari Border in Punjab, Statue of Unity in Gujarat, and finally commencing at Royal Enfield’s India Technical Center in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and will also cover major cities like Chandigarh, Amritsar, Attari, Abohar, Bikaner, Jaipur, Udaipur, Gandhinagar, Bharuch, Nasik, Pune, Solapur, Hyderabad, Anantapur, Bangalore, Salem, Madurai, and Kanyakumari before reaching its final destination in Chennai. The grand expedition is expected to reach its end on 28 March.
They will also be engaging with different biker communities and audiences on this journey to spread awareness about the subject of gender equality and bring forth the capabilities of women while standing firmly on freedom from bias, discrimination, and stereotypes.
