Chery Automobile has patented the Fengyun X3L, a Range Extender Electric Vehicle (REEV) SUV, in India. This move follows previous patents for other New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) by the company. The Fengyun X3L, a boxy two-row, five-seat SUV, closely resembles the Jetour but differs as a REEV rather than a plug-in hybrid.

The SUV delivers a combined power output of 422 HP and 505 Nm of torque.

The EV-only range is rated at 215 km. Charging options include a 92 kW fast charger, which can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes. A 6.6 kW AC charger is standard, while 6 kW vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) reverse charging are also supported. The petrol engine can recuperate 3.71 kWh of energy per litre of fuel consumed.
