Key Features and Performance

The Ferrari 849 Testarossa features a reworked 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It is paired with three electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. Unlike the original flat-12 Testarossa, the new model uses a plug-in hybrid system, similar to the SF90 Stradale. The combined power output is approximately 1,050bhp, making it the most powerful production Ferrari to date. This output places it alongside competitors like the Lamborghini Revuelto.
The 849 Testarossa accelerates from 0-100kmph in under 2.3 seconds. Its electronically limited top speed is 330kmph. The hybrid system allows for a pure-electric driving range of up to 25km. Electric motors on the front wheels provide advanced torque vectoring and enable limited electric-only driving.
Design and Technology
The design of the 849 Testarossa draws from the original 1980s Testarossa, featuring wide proportions and dramatic surfacing. Modern aerodynamic elements and sharper bodywork update its appearance. The car includes active aerodynamic features that can generate over 400kg of downforce at high speeds, enhancing stability and track performance.
Ferrari has equipped the 849 Testarossa with updated chassis electronics, advanced torque-vectoring systems, and a high-performance braking package. These upgrades aim to improve handling and safety at high speeds.
Production and Future Variants
Ferrari plans to keep production numbers limited, with most units expected to be pre-allocated to loyal customers. A retractable hard-top Spider version of the 849 Testarossa is anticipated, following Ferrari’s approach with models like the SF90 Spider.
