Hybrid Powertrain and Performance

The Ferrari 849 Testarossa uses a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with three electric motors. Two electric motors are mounted on the front axle, while the third sits between the engine and gearbox. This plug-in hybrid system delivers a total output of 1050 PS. Power is distributed to all four wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The hybrid system allows the Testarossa to drive short distances on pure electric power, enhancing efficiency and responsiveness. Ferrari claims the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in under 2.3 seconds. The top speed exceeds 330 kmph, placing it among the fastest production cars available.
Design and Styling Features
The 849 Testarossa features an aggressive design that blends retro elements with modern Ferrari aesthetics. The front end includes L-shaped LED headlights connected by a gloss black strip, inspired by classic Ferrari models. The front bumper has a large central air intake and a pronounced splitter.
From the side, the car displays large alloy wheels, flying buttresses, and prominent air intakes that direct airflow to the mid-mounted engine. The rear design includes slim LED tail lamps, twin tail sections, high-mounted exhausts, and a large diffuser for aerodynamic efficiency.
Interior and Technology

The cabin of the Testarossa is designed for a driver-focused experience. Ferrari has eliminated the traditional infotainment screen, focusing instead on driving information. The driver receives a 16-inch digital display, while the passenger has a 9-inch screen for performance and vehicle data. The high centre console creates a cockpit-like environment, and Ferrari has reintroduced physical steering-wheel buttons, replacing previous touch-sensitive controls. The interior uses premium materials such as leather, carbon fiber, and aluminum trim.
Despite its performance focus, the Testarossa includes several modern technologies. Features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital driver display, and a passenger display. Safety and performance systems consist of carbon-ceramic brakes, advanced traction control, and multiple stability management systems.
Market Position and Competitors
The Ferrari 849 Testarossa will compete with other high-performance hybrid supercars. Its closest rival is expected to be the Lamborghini Revuelto.
