Ferrari Amalfi Spider unveiled: A 640 HP grand tourer redefining open-top luxury

The Amalfi Spider features a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. This engine produces 640 HP of power and 760 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 320 kmph. These numbers match those of the Amalfi coupe.

Performance and Design Details

The Amalfi Spider weighs 1,556 kg, making it 86 kg heavier than the coupe. Despite the added weight, the convertible achieves a 0-200 kmph time of 9.4 seconds, which is only 0.4 seconds slower than the coupe. The model retains the coupe’s brake-by-wire system for precise braking. An active spoiler generates up to 110 kg of extra downforce at 250 kmph, with less than a 4 percent increase in drag.

The fabric roof of the Amalfi Spider is available in four colours. It opens in 13.5 seconds at speeds up to 60 kmph. When folded, the roof is just 220 mm thick, allowing a luggage capacity of 172 litres. With the roof closed, boot space increases to 255 litres. Wind deflectors on the rear-seat backrests help reduce wind noise. The five-layer roof material offers noise and vibration insulation similar to Ferrari’s hard-top models.

Interior Features and Technology

The Amalfi Spider’s interior mirrors the coupe’s 2+2 seating layout. The dashboard features curved air vents, a 10.25-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display. The driver benefits from a 15.6-inch digital display and a three-spoke steering wheel with multiple physical controls. The centre tunnel is crafted from aluminium.

Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, advanced driver-assistance systems, connected-car technology, adaptive cruise control, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, and a wireless charging pad. Ferrari also offers extensive interior personalisation options for the Amalfi Spider.

Market Availability

Ferrari has not yet confirmed an India launch for the Amalfi Spider. However, the Amalfi coupe will launch in India this year with a price of Rs 5.59 crore (ex-showroom).
