GIVI has introduced the new XSpace expandable motorcycle top case, designed for riders seeking flexible storage. The XSpace features a patented Monokey system and an internal rack mechanism, allowing it to switch between two storage capacities. In compact mode, it provides 27 litres of space suitable for daily commuting. When expanded, the capacity increases to 36 litres, making it useful for short trips, weekend rides, and touring.
Key Highlights
- GIVI XSpace top case offers 27 to 36 litres of adjustable storage
- The patented Monokey system enables telescopic expansion by up to 60mm
- Supports a maximum load of 10 kg and weighs 6 kg
- Compatible with BMW key and Smart Security Lock System
Currently, there is no official confirmation of an India launch. However, larger dealers may offer direct imported units if requested. The XSpace addresses the need for a versatile top case, as many riders do not require a large box for city use but may need extra space for longer journeys. The expandable feature allows riders to adjust storage as needed, avoiding the need to switch to a larger, bulkier case.
Key Features and Specifications

The XSpace can expand by up to 60mm, resulting in a 33 percent increase in storage volume. In its expanded form, the case measures 408mm in width, 498mm in length, and 320mm in height. The compact mode reduces the height to 260mm. The case itself weighs 6 kg and supports a maximum load of 10 kg.
The patented mechanical system enables telescopic expansion with the lid open. According to GIVI, this adjustment can be made in a single action without emptying the case. The mechanism is designed for precision, structural strength, and long-term reliability. It also prevents accidental or unauthorized activation when the motorcycle is parked, enhancing security for unattended bikes.
Practicality and Compatibility
In its 27-litre compact mode, the XSpace is well-suited for daily commutes and urban riding. The smaller size helps maintain better aerodynamics, stability, and comfort. When expanded to 36 litres, the case can hold one XXL GIVI modular helmet, making it suitable for touring or carrying bulkier gear.
The XSpace uses the Monokey fastening system with an internal rack for stability. It includes integrated handles and is constructed from materials that resist shock, UV rays, and weather exposure. GIVI claims that water resistance is maintained even when the case is expanded.
The XSpace is compatible with a BMW key and supports the Smart Security Lock System, which is available separately. Two versions will be offered: one with a black body and anodized aluminum cover, and another in full black without aluminum. Standard equipment includes an internal elastic net and a protective inner lining. Optional accessories are available, such as an upper luggage rack, a passenger backrest, an inner bag, and a lock cylinder for use with the original BMW key.
