Ultraviolette Tesseract electric scooter launch delayed to January 2027
Ultraviolette’s much-anticipated Tesseract electric scooter will now debut in January 2027, signaling a strategic delay aimed at refining performance, technology, and production readiness.

Ultraviolette has postponed the launch of its Tesseract electric scooter to January 2027. The company now aims to begin deliveries in the same month. This marks a delay from the original plan to start deliveries in 2024.
Key Highlights
- Ultraviolette Tesseract electric scooter launch delayed to January 2027
- Scooter features 100V architecture and 15 kW motor with 125 km/h top speed
- Available in 3.5 kWh, 4 kWh, and 6 kWh battery options starting at Rs 1.45 lakh
Reasons for Launch Delay
Ultraviolette attributes the delay to changes made after the scooter's concept unveiling in 2025. The company showcased the Tesseract in 30 cities across India to gather customer feedback. Based on this feedback and ongoing innovations, several modifications were made to the scooter.
The seat has been widened and fitted with denser foam to improve comfort for both rider and pillion. The floorboard has been redesigned to provide more space and make it easier for shorter riders to reach the ground. These changes are visible, but significant updates have also been made to the scooter's internal systems.
Technical Upgrades and Features
The Ultraviolette Tesseract now uses a 100V electrical architecture. Ultraviolette claims it is the first electric scooter in India to feature this system. The 100V setup offers improved thermal management, higher continuous power, and reduced costs. It also enables faster charging and delivers three times more power compared to previous designs.
The battery management system (BMS) has been newly developed for the Tesseract. Weighing 2.5 kg, it is smaller and lighter than the BMS used in the Ultraviolette X-47. These technical changes have contributed to the extended development timeline.
Performance and Safety
The production-spec Tesseract will be one of the most powerful electric scooters available. It features a 15 kW motor and a claimed top speed of 125 km/h. The scooter will offer advanced features such as ABS, traction control, and radar-based assistance. The radar system alerts riders to vehicles in the mirrors' blind spots, enhancing safety.
Battery Options and Pricing
Ultraviolette will offer the Tesseract in three battery capacities: 3.5 kWh, 4 kWh, and 6 kWh. Prices will start at Rs. 1.45 lakh, ex-showroom. The company has not yet announced the prices for the higher-capacity variants.
These updates reflect Ultraviolette's focus on customer feedback and technical innovation. The Tesseract aims to set new benchmarks in performance and safety for electric scooters in India.

CarBike 360 Says
The delay of the Ultraviolette Tesseract to January 2027 may disappoint eager buyers, but it also signals the brand’s focus on delivering a polished and competitive product. With rising competition in India’s premium EV space, this extra development time could help Ultraviolette fine-tune performance, technology, and reliability, ultimately strengthening its position in the evolving electric scooter market.
