Hero, one of India's leading two-wheeler manufacturers, has re-introduced the Vida V1 Plus, a new addition to its electric scooter lineup. Priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom), the V1 Plus aims to provide an affordable yet efficient option for urban commuters.
The Vida V1 Plus comes bundled with the FAME II subsidy and a portable charger, making it even more enticing for prospective buyers. Moreover, customers stand to benefit from state government subsidies, significantly reducing the cost of ownership. For instance, buyers in New Delhi can acquire the scooter for as low as Rs 97,800.
Cost-Effective Alternative to Premium Variant
Notably, the Vida V1 Plus is positioned as a cost-effective alternative to its premium variant, the V1 Pro, offering a saving of Rs 30,000. The e-scoooter is expected to compete with Bajaj Chetak Urbane , Ather 450S, and Ola S1 Air.
Performance and Features
Despite a slightly smaller 3.44 kWh battery pack compared to the V1 Pro's 3.94 kWh unit, the V1 Plus doesn't compromise on performance. It boasts a claimed range of 100 km on a single charge, making it suitable for daily commuting needs.
Both models share a powerful 6 kW electric motor, enabling a top speed of 80 kmph and swift acceleration from 0 to 40 kmph in just 3.4 seconds. Additionally, they feature modern amenities such as a fully-digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, multiple ride modes, and seamless smartphone connectivity.
Sales Performance
Hero MotoCorp's foray into the electric two-wheeler segment has seen a mixed bag of sales performance. While January witnessed a slight dip with 1,494 units sold, February saw a resurgence with 1,750 units moved. Notably, the sales trajectory for the Hero Vida has been on a steady incline since July 2023, culminating in a significant milestone in September when sales crossed the 3,000-unit mark.

Strategic Implications
The launch of the Vida V1 Plus underscores Hero MotoCorp's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customer base. By offering an affordable yet feature-packed electric scooter, the company aims to capitalize on the positive growth momentum witnessed in recent months.
CarBike360 Says
In conclusion, Hero MotoCorp's unveiling of the Vida V1 Plus signals a strategic move to penetrate deeper into the electric scooter market, promising consumers both affordability and efficiency in their daily commute.
