Honda 650cc Duo and X ADV Discontinued

The 650cc duo, which includes the CB650R and CBR650R, was relaunched in India in January 2025. The X ADV, a crossover maxi-scooter, was also part of Honda’s recent product lineup. Despite the relaunch, Honda has now removed these models from its Indian portfolio.

The last recorded price for the CB650R with E-Clutch stood at Rs 9.60 lakh, while the CBR650R with E-Clutch was priced at Rs 10.40 lakh. The X ADV’s last recorded price was Rs 11.90 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, India.

Limited Allocations and Sales Strategy

Honda’s approach for its large-capacity motorcycles in India involves importing a fixed number of units. Once these units are sold, the company halts bookings and removes the models from its official website. This strategy has led to the discontinuation of several models soon after their launch, including the CBR1000RR-R SP and Rebel 500.

The 650cc duo and X ADV appear to have followed the same pattern, with all allotted units sold out. This does not necessarily mean a permanent discontinuation. Honda may reintroduce the 650 duo in a future allocation cycle, possibly later in 2025 or in early 2027. However, the company has not confirmed any specific timeline for their return.

Recent Launches and Discontinuations

After the January 2025 relaunch of the 650 duo, Honda introduced several big bikes in India. These included the CBR1000RR-R SP, Rebel 500, X ADV, CB750 Hornet, and CB1000 Hornet SP. The CBR1000RR-R SP and Rebel 500 were discontinued soon after launch, likely due to limited allocations.

Honda’s current actions align with its established practice of offering limited numbers of large-capacity motorcycles in India. Once the allocated units are sold, the models are withdrawn until a new batch is potentially imported.
