Honda has finally introduced its much-anticipated e-Activa and QC1 electric scooters at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. This is the first time the Japanese firm has introduced electric scooters to the Indian market. Here is a detailed overview of both the scooters:
Honda e-Activa
We've been waiting a long time for the Honda Activa e-scooter. It has a modern design that aims to keep the same shape as the Honda Activa ICE. It gets an LED headlight and DRLs, which help to give the scooter a more refined, modern look.
The scooter has dual replaceable 1.5kWh battery packs. The scooter has a claimed range of 102km. Honda is currently planning to set up battery-swapping stations across the country. Honda has initially introduced this in major cities such as Bengaluru and Mumbai and will expand to other cities soon.
The battery is paired with a 6kW engine. It has a top speed of 80mph and a claimed 0-60mph acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.
The Honda Road Sync Duo edition of the scooter includes three riding modes: Econ, Standard and Sport. It features a 7-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity and additional features such as turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts. The e-scooter also has night modes that adjust the brightness of the TFT console.
Honda has also included H-Smart connectivity features such as keyless unlock and start, as well as Smart Find, which helps locate the scooter in crowded car parks.
Moreover, the scooter includes security features such as a smart lock. The basic Honda Activa e model has a smaller TFT console and lacks some connectivity options.
Well, Honda has designed the Activa e with one goal in mind: range anxiety-free commuting. The brand has used swappable batteries to achieve this but at the expense of under-seat storage.
The Activa electric scooter is priced at Rs 1,17,000 and the Activa e Road Sync Duo is priced at Rs 1,51,600 both at (ex-showroom).
Honda QC1
The Honda QC1 is a family-focused electric scooter. It has a similar look and styling to the Activa but lacks the LED DRL mounted on the apron. The scooter gets a 1.5kWh built-in battery pack, which has a claimed range of 80km on a full charge. The battery pack takes 4 hours and 30 minutes to charge from 0-80 percent. The scooter is powered by a 1.8kW electric motor, which gives it a claimed top speed of 50km/h.
In terms of features, the scooter is much simpler, with just a simple 5-inch LCD instrument panel for the most important readings. This scooter comes with just two riding modes namely Standard and Econ.
What improves the practicality of the scooter is the large 26-litre under-seat storage compartment. This is a benefit of the smaller built-in battery pack and makes the scooter much more suitable for family use. The price of this scooter is Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom)
Conclusion
Honda is one of the most popular 2W commuter vehicle providers in India, and Activa is the name that is popularly known in every corner of the country. The eActiva will compete against Bajaj Chetak Electric, Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, and other popular models. While the QC1 will fight against Ola S1 Air, and Hero Electric Optima. Overall, we are glad to see big names like Honda entering the EV segment with their two-wheeler offerings in the Indian market. This will improve the variety of choices currently available in the market and also help to improve EV adoption overall.
