The Hyundai Exter HX 2 comes equipped with halogen headlights and a basic black grille. It rides on 14-inch steel wheels and lacks styling elements such as roof rails, body-coloured ORVMs, and door handles. The HX 2 also does not include a rear spoiler, giving it a more utilitarian appearance. In contrast, the HX 10 features projector bi-function headlights, LED DRLs, and silver skid plates for a rugged look. It sits on 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, includes body cladding, roof rails, and LED indicators on the ORVMs. At the rear, the HX 10 adds a spoiler and a shark-fin antenna, enhancing its premium feel. Both variants offer LED tail lamps as standard. The HX 2 is available in monochrome shades like black, white, and grey, while the HX 10 provides a wider range of vibrant color options.

Inside, the Exter HX 2 features an all-black interior with fabric upholstery. It includes basic comfort features such as adjustable headrests and driver seat height adjustment. The HX 10 offers a dual-tone navy blue and grey interior, semi-fabric upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, footwell lighting, and metal pedals. Practical features like a driver’s armrest and parcel tray are also present in the HX 10.

The HX 2 lacks a touchscreen infotainment system and does not support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, or a sound system. It provides essential features such as keyless entry, a semi-digital instrument cluster, front power windows, and manual air conditioning. The HX 10 adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, electric sunroof, connected car technology, and OTA updates. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (via an adapter), automatic climate control, wireless phone charger, cooled glove box, cruise control, and push-button start. Additional features include automatic headlights and paddle shifters.

Safety and Engine Options

Both variants come standard with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. The HX 10 adds a rear parking camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), in-built dashcam, rear wiper, washer, and defogger.

The Hyundai Exter offers two engine options: a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol with CNG. The HX 2 is available only with manual gearbox options for both petrol and CNG. The HX 10 is offered only with the petrol engine paired to an AMT gearbox.
