Exterior and Design Updates

The Exter HX4 retains its upright, boxy appearance, giving it a strong SUV character. The facelift brings a more defined front, with the HX4 now featuring LED daytime running lights (DRLs) for a modern touch. The variant continues to use halogen headlamps, and silver inserts on the lower bumper provide contrast. The tall bonnet and squared-off design remain unchanged.

The HX4 comes with 15-inch steel wheels, but unlike lower variants, it receives stylised wheel covers for added visual interest. The side profile features black body cladding along the lower section, larger wheel arches, and a black insert on the C-pillar. However, the HX4 does not include roof rails or a rear spoiler.

At the rear, the HX4 features LED tail lamps and a glossy black insert between them, giving the car a more upmarket look. The bumper has a silver insert and a faux diffuser, adding a subtle sporty touch. The rear design remains consistent with the Exter's established styling.

Interior Features and Safety

Inside, the HX4 offers a dual-tone navy and black cabin theme. The seats use semi-fabric upholstery with a beige finish, providing contrast to the darker interior. The dashboard layout is simple and functional, with silver accents on the centre console and dashboard. A flat-bottom steering wheel adds a sportier feel.

The HX4 is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, power windows for the driver and co-passenger, a Type-C USB port, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. Rear AC vents, driver-side auto up/down power window, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and rear Type-C USB ports enhance convenience.

Powertrain and Pricing

The Exter HX4 is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is also available with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The 1.2-litre petrol engine can be paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission in other variants, but the HX4 does not offer this option.

Hyundai has priced the Exter HX4 from Rs 7.22 lakh to Rs 8.27 lakh (ex-showroom). The Exter competes with the Citroen C3 and Tata Punch, and is an alternative to the Grand i10 Nios.
