Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has recently announced the appointment of Sunil Moolchandani as its new Function Head for National Sales. With over two decades of experience in leading high-performance teams and driving market expansion, Mr. Moolchandani brings a strong blend of strategic insight and operational depth to the role.
With his experience, the brand might evolve through deep expertise in strategic leadership, customer lifecycle management, and market development across urban, rural, institutional, and commercial segments, besides team management and infrastructure. Sunil will oversee Hyundai’s sales figures and try to contribute to the brand’s goal of sales profit. HMIL expressed confidence in its ability to guide the sales execution towards long-term stability and performance.
Mr. Moolchandani has experienced leadership qualities through the various positions he has had working across the automotive market over the years. His proven track record in leveraging data-driven insights, optimizing channel performance, and fostering innovation positioned him as a key driver of HMIL's future growth in India.
The appointment of Moolchandani aligns with Hyundai's will to modernize its national sales framework and strengthen operational efficiency across regional markets. His strong grounding in sales leadership and his ability to orchestrate large-scale team transformations will be crucial as HMIL continues expanding its product range and dealership network across India’s expanding Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.
Mr. Sunil Moolchandani brings with him extensive automotive leadership experience across premium and volume-driven mobility brands. Over the last 20 years, he has consistently driven sales innovation, spearheaded dealer network development, and fostered organizational agility. Talking about his education, he completed his graduation with a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pune in 1999.
Later on, he did his master's at Symbiosis in 2001. After his education was completed, Sunil was elected as the Area Product Manager in Bajaj Auto. Then, from there, he moved to Lucknow and worked as the regional manager for Maruti Suzuki India Limited. Before being appointed as the sales head for Hyundai Motor India, Sunil Moolchandani was working as a chief commercial officer at Maruti Suzuki.
Hyundai continues to embody its principles of innovation, customer satisfaction, and transformation. Moolchandani’s focus on customer lifecycle management and institutional partnerships will further enhance Hyundai’s ability to connect with evolving consumer needs while focusing on long-term brand reliability.
