Key Highlights
- It's expected that Honda wouldn't launch the CBR250RR motorcycle in India.
- The bike gets a liquid-cooled 249cc parallel twin engine capable of offering 28.7 bhp power output and 23.3 Nm of peak torque.
- The bike maker might have patented it just to protect intellectual property.
Honda CBR250RR Engine & Specification Details
Honda CBR250RR packs a liquid-cooled 249cc parallel-twin petrol engine that churns out 28.7 bhp of power output and 23.3 Nm of torque. In comparison, the high-end variants deliver 42 bhp of power output and 25 Nm of peak torque. This robust engine technology combines a 6-speed gearbox with a quick shifter. The motorcycle has an overall weight of 166 kg ( 168 kg for high-end variants), making it slightly lighter than other racing bikes like KTM RC 390.
Additionally, Honda CBR250RR doesn't share any major components or mechanicals of other Honda motorcycles sold in India. Therefore, the company scarcely decides to launch this sports bike in the domestic market. Like Forza 360, Winner X, and NS125LA scooters, Honda has patented this motorbike to protect its intellectual property within the domestic market.
The already emerged sports bikes like KTM RC 390 and parallel-twin engine Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400 are leading the market because of their competitive prices. Therefore, if the company launches this sports bike in India, making a place for Honda CBR250RR will be tough.
Nevertheless, Yamaha R3 is also anticipated to be launched soon, which leaves no room for Honda's new sports bike. Even if the company thinks about it, it must set a competitive price tag.
