Jaguar will debut its new four-door electric grand tourer in September 2026. The launch was delayed from last year, reportedly due to a cyberattack that halted production at Jaguar's Solihull plant. This plant will manufacture the upcoming electric vehicle, which was previewed by the 2024 Type 00 concept.
Key Highlights
- Jaguar's four-door electric GT to debut globally in September 2026
- Over 1,000 HP and 1,300 Nm from a triple-motor setup with torque vectoring
- More than 700 km WLTP range and 321 km fast charge in 15 minutes
- Production delayed by cyberattack affecting Solihull plant operations
- UK and US will receive first phase rollout, with India following later
First Model in Jaguar’s Electric Era
The new grand tourer will be the first model to launch after Jaguar transitions to an all-electric brand. The car is built on the Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), a dedicated electric vehicle platform. It features a triple motor setup, delivering over 1,000 HP and 1,300 Nm of torque. Torque vectoring technology will help manage power distribution across the wheels.
The vehicle is expected to offer more than 700 km of range on a single charge, based on the WLTP cycle. Fast charging capabilities will allow the car to gain up to 321 km of driving range in just 15 minutes. The model will also include air suspension and twin-valve active dampers to enhance ride comfort.
Design and Market Rollout

The exterior design draws inspiration from the Type 00 concept. Key features include an upright nose, a long flat bonnet, a sloping roofline, and a short rear deck, giving the car a classic grand tourer stance. While the Type 00 concept is a two-door vehicle, the production version will be a four-door GT but will retain the same overall stance.
Test vehicles have shown a large rectangular grille-like element at the front. Since the car is electric, this feature serves as a styling detail rather than for cooling. According to Autocar UK, the car will introduce a new grille motif, representing the new face of the Jaguar brand.
Jaguar has referenced classic models such as the XK120, E-type, XJ Coupe V12, XJS, and XJ Series I in shaping the new GT. The production model will launch in phases, with the UK and US markets receiving it first. India is expected to get the model in the second phase. Jaguar Managing Director Rawdon Glover stated that the four-door GT could launch in India between late 2026 and early 2027, but the timeline may extend to 2028.

Conclusion
With the four‑door electric GT’s global debut locked in for September 2026, Jaguar is clearly using this flagship to reset its identity for the electric age. Blending heritage‑inspired design with long‑range performance and rapid charging, the upcoming grand tourer aims to position Jaguar firmly among the most desirable luxury EV makers worldwide.
