JSW MG Motor India has launched Season 6.0 of the MG Developer Program & Grant (MGDP) in partnership with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The program, themed 'Innovation in Automotive,' invites start-up applications until April 30, 2026. Demo Day is scheduled for June 1, 2026.

Program Details and Application Process
The MGDP aims to support start-ups working on future-ready solutions in the automotive sector. Applicants can submit proposals in categories such as AI in Automotive, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Intelligence, Innovation in EV Charging Infrastructure, Sustainability and Circular Economy, Connected Services, Innovation in Logistics and Supply Chain, and Innovation in Manufacturing.
A jury panel from corporate, academic, and industry backgrounds will evaluate submissions. The panel will assess entries based on originality and real-world applicability. Shortlisted start-ups will receive mentoring from JSW MG Motor India and its ecosystem partners. They will also get development support, access to testing facilities, and may receive grant assistance, subject to jury approval.
Applications are open now, with the deadline set for April 30, 2026. Shortlisted teams will receive mentoring before Demo Day, which will take place on June 1, 2026.
Program Impact and Previous Achievements
Since its launch in 2019, the MGDP has attracted over 1,550 entries across five seasons. More than 290 teams have advanced to the first round. Over 100 mentors, including JSW MG Motor India's leadership and technology partners, have guided participants.
To date, 51 start-ups have been shortlisted and are involved in various pilot projects. The program continues to focus on fostering collaboration and India-specific innovation. Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, emphasized the department's commitment to developing the country's future workforce and encouraging practical problem-solving through this partnership.
The MGDP remains a significant initiative for supporting innovation in the automotive sector, providing opportunities for start-ups to develop and test their solutions with industry support.
