Kawasaki has finally launched its most awaited ZX-6R in India at just RS. 11.09 Lakhs. The bike will be available in Lime Green and Metallic Graphite Grey colours.
Kawasaki has finally launched the ZX-6R in India at Rs. 11.09 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The bike was discontinued from the Indian market a few years ago, because of which only Ninja 650 remained the only Kawasaki fully-faired motorcycle in the 600cc category. Earlier only Honda was known to dominate the middle-weight in-line four-cylinder motorcycle segment in India with its CBR650R and CB650R.
There are two colours available from Kawasaki: Lime Green and Metallic Graphite Grey. The ZX-10R, the most well-known litre-class motorbike and its bigger sibling, serves as the design model for this fully-faired motorcycle. With a split LED headlight configuration on either side of a sizable central air inlet, the motorcycle has supersport styling. Along with sleek ORVMs, there is a respectable windscreen that riders may get behind.
It appears that the multi-layered fairing provides good performance and facilitates effective heat transfer without overheating the rider's legs. The elevated rear part and tail-light, perfectly complement the design and performance it provides.
Performance-wise, the Kawasaki ZX-6R is equipped with the renowned 636cc 4-cylinder in-line engine that features DOHC, 4V per cylinder, and four Keihin 38mm throttle bodies. Performance wise ZX-6R provides peak torque of 69 Nm and maximum power of 128 bhp.
6-speed gearbox, sealed chain, slipper clutch, Kawasaki Traction Control (KRTC), full and low power modes, Kawasaki Intelligent ABS (KIBS), and Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) are some features of new Kawasaki ZX-6R. Additionally, there is a 4.3-inch TFT display which has smartphone connectivity and an eco riding indicator.
Kawasaki has given two 310mm discs with radially mounted 4-piston callipers at the front and one 220mm disc with a single-piston calliper at the back serving as dropping anchors, to the ZX-6R. All of this is fixed to a perimeter frame made of aluminium with a wheelbase of 1,400 mm and ground clearance of 129.5 mm. The fuel tank weighs 198 kg at the curb and has a capacity of 17L.
The suspension system consists of a gas-charged rear monoshock from Uni-Trak and 41mm Showa Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD telescopic front forks. Compression, rebound, and preload adjustments are available for both suspensions. The tires mounted on the 17-inch alloy wheels are 185-55 on the back and 120-70 on the front.
