Kawasaki, after launching the Eliminator 400, contemplates the re-introduction of its Ninja 300-based ADV model, the Versys X-300, in India. After witnessing the Kawasaki Versys X-300 in the past, and the new test model, spotted around Pune, suggests a revival. The adventure bike, sharing components with the Ninja 300, aims to tap into the growing popularity of sub-500cc adventure and lifestyle vehicles.

Challenging the Champions
With the success of bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan and Hero Xpulse 200, the adventure bike market has seen new entrants like Yezdi Adventure, KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, Triumph Scrambler 400X, and the upcoming Himalayan 450. Kawasaki's potential pricing around Rs. 4 lakh could bridge the gap between the Himalayan 450 and Honda NX500.
Sporty Edge and Features
The Versys X-300 test mule in Pune showcases a sporty edge, with a single-pod headlight, a tall transparent windscreen, and a rider-friendly seating position. The bike sports RSU telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. With a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheel setup, the global model's characteristics seem retained.

Powerhouse Performance
Equipped with the Ninja 300’s 296cc DOHC liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, the Versys X-300 promises a power output of around 39 bhp and 26 Nm. The launch is anticipated by the end of 2024, offering adventure enthusiasts a potent and affordable option in the sub-500cc segment.
