Kinetic Green is set to revive its iconic multi-utility two-wheeler, Luna. The much-awaited Kinetic E-Luna is scheduled for launch in early February 2024, marking a significant leap in the brand's commitment towards sustainable mobility solutions.
Officially announced by Kinetic, the pre-bookings for the E-Luna are now open, inviting enthusiasts to secure their scooter with just Rs 500 via Kinetic Green’s official website.
Design and Features
Retaining the essence of the original Luna, the electric variant boasts a simple yet practical design. The familiar round halogen headlight enclosed within a square nacelle, accompanied by bulb-type indicators, maintains the Luna's iconic appeal.
Noteworthy additions include a small flyscreen, square-shaped rearview mirrors, and a leg guard for enhanced safety. The E-Luna features a wide floorboard housing the battery pack, ensuring a seamless blend of tradition and innovation.
While the original Luna boasted a 50cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, providing adequate power for everyday tasks, the E-Luna presents a sustainable alternative with zero emissions. Moreover, reminiscent of its predecessor, riders can rely on pedals for added convenience in case the 4-litre fuel tank ran empty.
Anticipated to reach a top speed of 50kmph, the electric moped is likely to sport 16-inch wire-spoked wheels and drum brakes at both ends, promising a balanced performance for urban commutes and daily errands.
Expected Price
With an expected price tag of around Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom), the Kinetic E-Luna is poised to compete against the likes of the Okinawa Dual. The scooter is also offering an alternative to the conventional TVS XL 100.
Verdict
As Kinetic Green prepares to usher in a new era of eco-friendly mobility, the revival of the Luna in an electric version not only pays homage to its heritage but also underscores the brand's commitment to shaping a greener, more sustainable future on India's roads. Stay tuned as the E-Luna gears up to make its mark on the electric vehicle landscape come February.
