Key Highlights:

  • Ola Electric signals a new addition to the company's lineup
  • The scooter is expected to have battery capacity of around 3kWh offering a range of approximately 150 km
  • Introduction of swappable batteries can be seen in this new electric scooter

Patent images of an upcoming Ola Electric scooter have surfaced online, signalling a new addition to the company's lineup. Designed with a focus on the commercial sector, this electric scooter promises to revolutionise the industry with its innovative features and practical design.

Setting itself apart from Ola's existing electric scooters, this new model is rumored to incorporate swappable battery technology, a first for the company. This innovation could significantly enhance the ease of use and efficiency for businesses, particularly those involved in last-mile delivery services and other B2B operations.

Design

The scooter's design reflects its intended urban commercial applications, boasting a compact and affordable construction. With a simple tubular frame and a minimalist handlebar, the scooter is engineered for cost-effectiveness without sacrificing functionality. Modest instrument clusters provide essential information such as speed, battery level, and range, while the suspension system may feature Ola's signature twin telescopic front forks.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this new scooter is the placement of the battery under the seat, a departure from traditional designs. This strategic decision maximizes cargo space and hints at the possibility of swappable battery technology, a feature that could transform the electric scooter market.

Additionally, the scooter's weatherproof design ensures the durability required for commercial use, while its floorboard layout and spacious luggage rack further enhance its utility for transporting goods. Equipped with 10-inch wheels and high-profile tubeless tires, the scooter is designed to navigate city roads with ease.

With an expected battery capacity of around 3kWh, this scooter could offer an impressive real-world range of approximately 150 km, catering to the needs of businesses seeking reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions.

Expected Price

This new scooter is expected to be priced below the current S1 line up of Ola. Currently the S1 X lineup is priced between Rs 89,999 and Rs 99,999.
