Honda Activa 125 Highlights
Honda Activa 125 was the first BS6 two-wheeler in this category and was launched as a mileage scooters available at a starting price of Rs. 72,802 in India. With 3 variants and 4 colours options with top variant priced at Rs. 79,914, this vehicle gets power by 124cc BS6 engine which develops 8.18 bhp of power and 10.3 Nm of torque. Honda Activa 125 has a regular combined braking system for both the wheels, and the scooter weighs 111 kg along with a fuel tank capacity of 5.3 litres.
The machine is updated with 125cc iteration in order to comply with the newest emission norms, and the scooter has received several new features and styling revisions during the transition phase. For starters, the BS6-compliant 125cc engine comes equipped with a fuel injection technology. The motor also gets advantage from an ACG starter and Enhanced Smart Power (eSP), and tumble flow technology which is unique in itself. Honda claims 13 per cent more fuel efficient than its predecessor as claimed by the company.
The styling has been revised with few tweaks, and therefore the Activa 125 now packs an LED headlight along with apron-mounted LED position lamps. The full metal body and chrome highlights further enhances the polished look of the scooter. Other convenience features this model includes are Idling Stop System, pass switch, a multifunction switch, external fuel filler cap, and a front glove box. There is safety net on the scooter as well which includes a side-stand engine cut-off function and CBS. The hardware contains of telescopic front forks and three-step flexible spring-loaded suspension at the rear. The anchoring tasks are handled by a 190mm disc (top-spec) at the front and a 130mm drum setup at the rear.
There is also a semi-digital instrument cluster which includes an analog speedometer and an LCD screen that shows current fuel efficiency, mileage, range, a trip meter, an odometer, and a clock to be specific. The instrument cluster features a malfunction lamp and a side stand indicator as well.
The Activa 125 competes with Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, and the upcoming TVS Jupiter 125 as well as other 125cc scooters like the Hero Destini 125, Hero Maestro Edge 125 and the Suzuki Burgman Street BS6. In terms of pricing, it competes with the Honda SP 125.
