Honda 2W sales breakup April 2026 as Activa, Shine And Unicorn leads growth by 14.68%
Honda starts FY2026 strong, with the Activa, Shine, and Unicorn leading monthly two-wheeler sales performance.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has opened FY 2026‑27 on a strong note, with April 2026 two‑wheeler sales crossing 5.63 lakh units across domestic and export markets, up around 17 percent year‑on‑year. Domestic dispatches alone stood at about 4.85 lakh units, up nearly 15%, as scooters and commuter motorcycles continued to drive showroom footfall for Honda across urban and rural areas.
Much of this momentum still comes from Honda’s familiar nameplates like Activa, Shine, Unicorn, and Dio—now supported by newer nameplates like CB350, SP160, and the Hornet range. Together, these models anchor Honda’s mass‑market play while also nudging the brand gradually upward into more aspirational, feature‑rich, and enthusiast‑friendly segments that Honda hopes will strengthen profitability and keep dealers buzzing this year.
Overall April 2026 Performance
Honda reported total two‑wheeler sales of 5.63 lakh units in April 2026, compared with about 4.80 lakh units a year ago, translating into roughly 17 percent year‑on‑year growth. Domestic volumes contributed around 4.84 lakh units, up 14.7 percent over April 2025, while exports surged to nearly 79,600 units, marking a robust jump of over 37 percent.
Model‑wise wholesale data indicate domestic dispatches of 4,84,972 units in April 2026, versus 4,22,931 units in the same month last year, a gain of about 15 percent. On a sequential basis, however, volumes were down roughly 5 percent from the 5,12,303 units dispatched in March 2026, a typical post–financial‑year‑end cooling off after aggressive March billing.
Honda Activa Remains Best-Selling

The Honda Activa continues to be Honda’s undisputed volume anchor, clocking 2,20,774 units in April 2026, up 13 percent from 1,94,787 units a year earlier. The scooter alone accounts for close to half of Honda’s domestic wholesales, and it also retained its position as India’s best‑selling scooter within the broader two‑wheeler top‑ten list.
Despite a mid‑teen month‑on‑month softening from March, Activa’s underlying demand remains strong, driven by its blend of ease of use, reliability, wide dealer reach, and high residual values. For Honda, Activa continues to be the default family scooter choice, especially in urban and semi‑urban markets where shared household usage is the norm.
Honda Shine and Unicorn Reinforce Commuter Strength
On the motorcycle side, Honda Shine remains the star of Honda’s commuter portfolio. The Shine 125 alone accounted for 1,68,636 units in April 2026, registering about 13 percent year‑on‑year growth and even improving sequentially over March. When you consider the full Shine line, the nameplate delivered around 1,82,874 units and finished third in India’s overall two‑wheeler rankings for the month.
The Honda Unicorn has quietly built a solid base in the premium-commuter space, with 39,310 units dispatched in April 2026. That translates into an impressive 51 percent year‑on‑year jump over April 2025, and it also features in the national top‑ten two‑wheelers chart, underlining strong acceptance among 150–160 cc executive buyers looking for a refined, no‑nonsense motorcycle.
Honda Dio, Hornet range, and CB350 Target Young Buyers

Below the Activa, the Dio range continues to play the sporty-scooter role. The standard Dio contributed 13,769 units in April 2026, lower year‑on‑year, but this is now complemented by the newer Dio 125, which added another 13,314 units, indicating a clear shift in youthful demand towards 125 cc, better‑equipped offerings.
In the sporty commuter and entry‑premium space, the CB 125 Hornet posted 4,093 units, while the Hornet 2.0 added 230 units in April. Though these volumes are modest compared to Activa or Shine, the Hornet family remains important for image‑building and for customers graduating from basic commuters into sportier, more characterful machines.
Honda’s modern‑classic CB350 line is steadily gaining traction as well. The Honda CB350 recorded 3,975 units in April 2026, more than doubling volumes with 113 percent year‑on‑year growth, even though dispatches were slightly lower than in March. This highlights Honda’s increasing importance in the mid-capacity retro segment.

CarBike 360 Says
Honda has kicked off the new fiscal year on a solid note, with Activa continuing its dominance while Shine and Unicorn deliver consistent volumes. This balanced portfolio performance highlights Honda’s strong grip across the scooter and commuter segments. If this momentum sustains, the brand is well-positioned to strengthen its market share further in the coming months.
