The 1290 Adventure S, KTM's premier adventure bike, is now available in India for ₹22.74 lakh ex-showroom. Other models including the 890 Duke, 890 Adventure R, and 1390 Super Duke R are also coming to market as Completely Built Units (CBUs), indicating KTM's ongoing growth in the premium motorcycle market.
The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S's specifications
A powerful V-Twin LC8 engine that produces an amazing 158 horsepower and 138 Nm of peak torque powers the 1290 Super Adventure S. With its 6-speed gearbox, bi-directional quickshifter, and slip and assist clutch, it offers smooth gear changes and top performance on a variety of terrains.
Design Highlights of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S
The motorcycle comes in two eye-catching colour combinations: orange and black and orange and gray. Its design features split seats, a complete body fairing, and a distinctive inverted U-shaped headlight arrangement. Its sturdy appearance is enhanced by the dual-barrel exhaust on the side, and the windscreen shields the rider from windblast. The whole design gives off a strong, robust vibe that is ideal for lengthy rides.
Advanced Features of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S
In the 1290 Super Adventure S, KTM has included cutting-edge technology, such as a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster with Turn-by-Turn+ navigation that is operated by switchgear located on the handlebar and linked to the KTMConnect app. The bike has adjustable ABS settings, adaptive cruise control, WP semi-active suspension, and many ride modes. The rider's preferences may be accommodated by adjusting the seat height between 849 mm and 869 mm. To improve vision at night, the handlebar switches are also lighted.
Hardware and Suspension Details
The 1290 Adventure S has a semi-active mono shock at the back and WP semi-active front USD forks. It has two 320 mm front discs and a 267 mm rear disc for braking. The bike is equipped with Mitas Terra Force R tires on cast aluminium alloy wheels, which provide stability and grip on a variety of terrains.
Key Competitors
The BMW R 1300 GS and Ducati Multistrada V4, two strong competitors in the high-end adventure motorcycle market, are fierce rivals of the KTM 1290 Adventure S.
