Leapmotor B10 SUV Design Patent Filed in India, Features and Specifications Detailed

Chinese automaker Leapmotor has filed a design patent for its B10 SUV in India. This marks Leapmotor's second design filing in the country, following the earlier C10. While a patent does not confirm a launch, the B10 could be among the models the company is evaluating for the Indian market. Stellantis, which partly owns Leapmotor, announced Leapmotor's entry into India in April last year. Initial plans included launching the T03 hatchback and C10 SUV, but these have not materialized yet.

B10 SUV Design and Dimensions

The Leapmotor B10 features a clean, modern SUV design. It measures 4,515mm in length, 1,885mm in width, and 1,655mm in height, with a 2,735mm wheelbase. The front includes slim daytime running lights connected by a blacked-out trim, rectangular LED headlights, and fog lamps. The bonnet is slightly raised, giving the B10 an upright stance. Side features include flush-fitting door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels, and auto-folding, heated, reverse tilt, and memory function ORVMs. The SUV also offers rear privacy glass and a panoramic sunroof. At the rear, it has connected LED tail-lamps, a spoiler with a stop lamp, an electric tailgate, wiper and washer, and parking sensors.

Interior Features and Safety

The B10's cabin has a minimal layout. The dashboard houses a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an 8.8-inch digital driver display. Door trims use soft-touch materials, and chrome accents surround the AC vents. The seats use eco-friendly, multi-layer materials for comfort and reduced cabin odour. Both front seats are powered, heated, and ventilated, and the steering wheel is heated. Other features include 12 speakers, a wireless charger, 64-colour ambient lighting, and rear AC vents.

Safety features include seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS with 17 driver assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, and rear cross traffic braking. The B10 EV received a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP crash tests in 2025.

Powertrain Options and Performance

Internationally, the B10 is available as a range-extender hybrid and a full EV. The hybrid uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine as a generator for the 18.8kWh battery. It supports 46kW DC fast charging (30-80 percent in 30 minutes) and 6.6kW AC charging (30-80 percent in 1.45 hours). A 218hp electric motor drives the wheels, with a claimed combined range of 900km. The B10 EV has a 67.1kWh LFP battery and a 218hp e-motor. It accelerates from 0-100kph in 8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 171kph. The all-electric B10 offers a WLTP range of 434km and supports fast charging up to 168kW, allowing a 30-80 percent charge in 30 minutes.

Market Position and Competition

If launched in India, the B10's competition will depend on the powertrain. As an EV, it would compete with the Vinfast VF7, Tata Harrier EV, BYD Atto 3, and Hyundai Ioniq 5. There is currently no range-extender hybrid SUV in the executive segment. The Tata Harrier is offered with turbo-petrol or diesel engines, while the Jeep Compass is available only with a diesel. Stellantis is considering assembling Leapmotor EVs in India as CKD units at its Ranjangaon facility, with plans for future localisation. However, there is no official timeline or confirmation on local manufacturing or launch dates.
