Green SM to launch VinFast powered ride hailing service in India from June 2026
Green SM is set to launch a VinFast-powered ride-hailing service in India from June 2026, marking a new phase in electric mobility and sustainable urban transport solutions.

Green SM, a Vietnamese ride-hailing company backed by Vingroup, will begin operations in India on June 5, 2026. The service will first launch in the Delhi-NCR region before expanding to other cities. Green SM aims to compete with established players such as Uber and Ola in the Indian market.
Key Highlights
- Green SM to launch ride-hailing service in India on June 5, 2026
- Vinfast Limo Green to be the initial fleet model with 60.13 kWh battery
- Limo Green offers 517 km ARAI-claimed range and 204 HP power output
- Green SM will use only Vinfast vehicles for its Indian operations
Vinfast Fleet to Power Green SM

Unlike other ride-hailing services that use vehicles from multiple manufacturers, Green SM will exclusively use Vinfast cars. The initial fleet will feature the Limo Green, a fleet-specific version of the VF MPV 7. The Limo Green will use the VF MPV 7’s 60.13 kWh battery pack but will receive a separate ARAI certification for fleet use. Tapan Kumar Ghosh, CEO of Vinfast India, confirmed these details in an interview with Autocar India.
The VinFast VF MPV 7, which serves as the base for the Limo Green, offers an ARAI-claimed range of 517 km. Its front-mounted electric motor produces 204 HP and 280 Nm of torque. The Limo Green will feature different badges and logos compared to the VF MPV 7 and will have fewer features to suit fleet requirements.
Design and Interior Details

The Limo Green was recently seen on Indian roads with a cyan paint finish, green SM branding, and steel wheels with covers. The interior will have an all-black theme, unlike the brown-and-black theme of the VF MPV 7. The Limo Green is expected to maintain a 7-seat layout, catering to group travel and family needs.
In addition to the Limo Green, Green SM is considering the VF5 electric hatchback for its Indian fleet. This move could further diversify the company’s offerings in the local market. Green SM already operates in Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines, providing ride-hailing services through a dedicated app.
Market Context and Expansion Plans
With its entry into India, Vinfast joins other automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Toyota, and Hyundai, which also supply vehicles for fleet-based operations. Green SM’s exclusive use of Vinfast vehicles sets it apart from competitors who rely on multiple brands for their fleets.
Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM), established in 2023 by Vinfast founder Pham Nhat Vuong, manages Green SM’s operations. The company’s expansion into India marks a significant step in its growth strategy across Asia.
