Key Highlights

  • Mahindra will launch 16 new models by 2031, including 10 ICE and 6 electric vehicles
  • The NU_IQ platform will underpin many upcoming models, with four new SUV concepts revealed
  • The BE07 electric SUV based on the INGLO platform is scheduled for launch in 2027

Mahindra’s Launch Timeline and Progress

In 2024, Mahindra set a goal to introduce 9 ICE models and 7 EVs by 2030. This included both new models and updates to existing vehicles. By the end of the 2026 financial year, Mahindra had already launched 5 ICE models and 4 EVs. The ICE models included the XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, XUV 7XO, Bolero facelift, and Bolero Neo facelift. The EV launches featured the BE 6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S, and XUV 3XO EV.

According to the original plan, Mahindra had 4 ICE models and 3 EVs left to launch by 2030, totaling 7 remaining vehicles. However, starting from April 2026, Mahindra revised its strategy and increased its launch projections for the following five years.

Upcoming Models and New Platforms

Between 2026 and 2031, Mahindra now plans to introduce 10 ICE models and 6 EVs. This brings the total number of new launches to 16, more than doubling the remaining vehicles from the previous target. The 10 upcoming ICE models will include one mid-lifecycle update, likely the Scorpio N facelift, and 9 all-new nameplates.

Many of these new models are expected to use Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform, which debuted in August 2025. Alongside this platform, Mahindra revealed four new SUV concepts: Vision S, Vision X, Vision T, and Vision SXT. These models will be positioned under the XUV, Thar, and Scorpio sub-brands. The first production version from these concepts is expected to launch next year.

For electric vehicles, Mahindra’s next major release will be the production version of the BE.07 concept. This model, based on the INGLO born-electric platform, is scheduled for launch in 2027.

Market Impact and Future Outlook

Mahindra’s revised strategy demonstrates its focus on both conventional and electric vehicles. The company’s new models and platforms are set to strengthen its position in the Indian automotive market over the next decade.
