Key Highlights:
Mahindra XUV.e9: Mahindra’s highly anticipated Coupe SUV has been recently spotted testing on Indian roads. Mahindra has some big plans to dominate India’s EV car segment by launching an EV product in each segment. The upcoming Mahindra XUV.e9 will be one of those EV offerings in Mahindra’s portfolio. The XUV.e9 will be introduced as the coupe E-SUV in India and it will compete with the likes of Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV.
The automaker is expected to launch the XUV.e9 coupe E-SUV around April 2025. Presently, Mahindra has been conducting tests of the upcoming electric SUV for some time now. Although the vehicle was heavily camouflaged, we managed to get some design cues from the spotted test mule of the SUV. Curious to know more about the SUV? Check out more details below.
The recent test mule has been spotted with a unique front fascia that looks EV-specific to some extent. Apart from this, the E-SUV has vertically positioned taillights, a coupe design, and large alloy wheels, Another noticeable design element of the E-SUV was a unique curved light bar at the backside.
As mentioned above, Mahindra XUV.e9 will be the automaker’s first electric coupe SUV. After making its official debut, the electric SUV will go against the Tata Curvv EV. The coupe SUV segment is relatively a new and emerging segment in India. Automakers like Tata, Mahindra and Citroen are the pioneers to introduce coupe SUVs in India. In the future, some other brand will also launch their new product with a coupe design.
Mahindra's foray into the electric coupe SUV segment with the XUV.e9 marks a bold step towards dominating India's EV market. With its unique design cues and promising features, Mahindra aims to challenge competitors like Tata and MG. The XUV.e9's innovative styling and electric powertrain signify a shift towards sustainable mobility. As the electric vehicle landscape evolves, Mahindra's strategic move underscores its commitment to pioneering innovation in India's automotive sector.
