Maruti Suzuki has brought about some notable changes to its popular Brezza line-up. The updated brochure reveals that manual variants of the compact SUV no longer come equipped with a mild-hybrid system. Let's delve into the details of these changes and how they impact the overall performance and features of the Brezza.
Manual Variants Ditch the Mild-Hybrid System
The heart of the Brezza is a 1.5-litre petrol engine, generating 102 BHP and 135 Nm of torque. Previously, both manual and automatic variants benefited from the mild-hybrid technology. However, Maruti has now reserved this feature exclusively for the automatic variants, leaving the manual variants without it.
Engine and Transmission Options Remain
The Brezza's powertrain options remain unchanged. Customers can still choose between the 5-speed manual gearbox or opt for the 6-speed automatic transmission. The mild-hybrid system now accompanies the latter, offering enhanced fuel efficiency and driving experience.
Fuel Economy Implications
With the mild-hybrid system removed from the manual variants, there is an impact on the fuel economy figures. The mild-hybrid version previously boasted an impressive fuel efficiency of up to 20.15 km/l. However, without this system, the manual variants now offer a slightly lower fuel economy of 17.38 km/l.
Feature Enhancements
Maruti has also made some feature upgrades to the Brezza. The latest model now includes seatbelt reminders for all seats, providing enhanced safety for all occupants. Additionally, the compact SUV now boasts a 360-degree camera system, further aiding in parking and maneuvering. Moreover, it comes equipped with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and hill-hold assist for added safety and control during challenging driving conditions.
Changes in the CNG Variant
Interestingly, the CNG variant of the Brezza has witnessed some feature deletions. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and hill-hold assist have been removed from this version. While it's essential to note these exclusions, the CNG variant continues to offer an eco-friendly and cost-effective option for eco-conscious drivers.
In conclusion, Maruti Suzuki's adjustments to the Brezza line-up demonstrate the brand's commitment to enhancing its offerings based on market demands and customer preferences. By making selective feature updates and reserving mild-hybrid technology for the automatic variants, Maruti aims to cater to a wide range of consumers looking for an efficient and feature-packed compact SUV.
