The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has been spotted testing in India, featuring updated front design, possible new features, and continued petrol and CNG engine options. The refreshed model is expected to launch soon with a slight price increase.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift has been seen testing in India, signaling an upcoming update for the premium hatchback. The Baleno, currently in its second generation since 2022, is set for a mid-cycle refresh to maintain its position in the competitive segment.
Key Highlights
- Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift spotted testing in India
- Front fascia updated with sleeker grille and revised bumper
- CNG variant likely as camouflage hints at alternative fuel testing
- Interior layout unchanged but new features and materials expected
- Facelift to retain 1.2-litre petrol engine and CNG option
Exterior and Design Updates

Spy images show that the most significant changes are at the front of the vehicle. The test car features a redesigned fascia with a sleeker grille, possibly including a slim chrome strip that connects the headlamps. The bumper has also been updated, but the lighting setup, such as projector LED headlamps and signature daytime running lights, remains unchanged. Notably, the fog lamps present in the current model are missing from the test vehicle.
The side profile of the Baleno remains familiar, retaining the same silhouette and alloy wheel design found on lower trims of the current version. Camouflage on the windscreen suggests the test vehicle could be a CNG variant, indicating Maruti Suzuki's continued focus on alternative fuel options alongside petrol.
At the rear, the design is largely similar to the outgoing model. Features like wraparound LED tail-lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler, and a rear wiper are carried over. Minor changes to the rear bumper may be included as part of the facelift.
Interior and Features

Inside, the test mule does not show major visual changes. The dashboard layout is identical to the current model, with a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, trapezoidal air vents, and a multi-function steering wheel. The facelifted Baleno is expected to offer updated interior themes and materials to improve perceived quality.
Key features such as a head-up display, automatic climate control, and a multi-information display are likely to be retained. There is also a possibility of new features, including a single-pane sunroof and ambient lighting, which are becoming more common among competitors.
Engine and Expected Launch
The facelift is expected to continue with the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with both manual and AMT gearbox options. The CNG variant, currently offered on select trims, is also likely to remain part of the lineup.
An official launch date has not been announced. However, the updated Baleno is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model. Upon launch, it will continue to compete with rivals such as the Hyundai i20.
