The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift, set for launch, boasts significant upgrades in design, features, and engine. Available in LXi, VXi, and ZXi variants, with a possible VXI (O) and ZXI+ addition, it showcases a sleek design, advanced features like digital clusters, and a new Z-Series 1.2L engine promising enhanced fuel efficiency. Expected competitive pricing aims to solidify its position against rivals.
Key Highlights:
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: As scheduled, the Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the 2024 Swift tomorrow. The new Swift has some significant cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. The automaker will announce the price of the upcoming Swift during the launch event. The new-gen Swift was first unveiled at the home market. The automaker has already commenced the bookings for the upcoming hatchback and interested buyers can book their unit with a token amount of Rs. 11000.
The 2024 Swift will be available in three variants- LXi, VXi and ZXi. As per the leaked document, there’s a possibility of the introduction of a new VXI(O) variant for the Swift. Apart from this, the top-end ZXi model will also get a ZXI+ variant that will be more loaded than any other variant of the hatchback.
As mentioned above, the 2024 Swift will come with some significant cosmetic upgrades on the exteriors and interiors. The India spec Swift will get almost a similar design to the one launched in the Japanese market.
Talking about the notable upgrades, the new Swift will come with a redesigned grille with a black treatment, updated LED headlamps and DRLs. The hatchback gets the same design at the rear with a tweaked tail light. The side profile upgrades on the hatchback include a new set of alloy wheels.
The new Swift is now fully loaded with some new features such as a new digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It is worth noting that the top-end models of the new-gen Swift will feature a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, rear AC vents and heads-up display.
Maruti Suzuki has made some major changes under the hood this time. The older mill is now replaced with a new Z-Series 1.2 litre 3 cylinder petrol engine. Additionally, the mild-hybrid unit will be mated to a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT unit. The new powertrain can produce 80 bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque, less than the outgoing model because it offers better fuel efficiency.
Once launched, the new Swift will compete with Tata Tiago and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. The outgoing Swift price ranges from Rs. 7.16 lakh to 10.55 lakh which is already more than its straight competitors. This time, Maruti is expected to keep the prices more competitive, starting at Rs. 7 lakh and going up to 10 lakh.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift impresses with its significant upgrades in design, features, and engine. The addition of a new VXI(O) and ZXI+ variant promises greater choice and luxury. However, while the new powertrain prioritizes fuel efficiency, the slight power reduction may disappoint some enthusiasts. With competitive pricing expected, the Swift looks set to maintain its strong position in the hatchback segment.
