MG Motor Introduces Comet EV in India, Enhanced with Rapid Charging Option
MG Motor India unveils Comet EV with rapid charging. Variants reshuffled, two new models added with extra features. Priced between Rs 6.99 - Rs 9.14 lakh, emphasizing affordability and advanced tech.

MG Motor has unveiled the MG Comet EV, which now has a fast charging option. The EV's variants have been rearranged, and two new models now have extra features. The revised Comet EV now retails for between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.14 lakh (both ex-showroom).
Variant Revamp
Three variants of the Comet EV were previously available: Pace, Play, and Plush. The Executive, Excite, and Exclusive versions have now taken their place. The fast-charging feature is now available for the Excite and Exclusive. Notably, the Executive and Excite variants' prices have not changed, but the Exclusive variant's price is Rs 20,000 more than the Plush trim's.
Detailed Pricing
Starting at Rs 6.99 lakh for the base Executive trim, the mid-Excite variant costs Rs 7.88 lakh (ex-showroom), and an additional Rs 8.24 lakh (ex-showroom) is charged for the fast charging option. The fastest charging option costs Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-tier Exclusive variant costs Rs 8.78 lakh (ex-showroom).
Improved Fast Charging Capability
Fast charging is now possible with the FC Comet models thanks to a 7.4 kW AC charger, which is a major improvement over the previous 3.3 kW AC charger, which took about 7 hours to fully charge from 0% to 100%.
Additional Features for Fast Charging Models
Rear disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, ESC, power foldable ORVMs, turn indicator integrated DRLs, and creep mode are among the new features added to the Excite and Exclusive models.
Technological Upgrades
In addition, there are two 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster, three USB ports, steering-mounted controls, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and linked car technology.

Enhanced Safety Features
The Comet EV has dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a reverse camera with sensors, when it comes to focus on the safety features.
Battery and Powertrain Details
The Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor delivering 42hp of power and 110 Nm of torque. The battery boasts IP67-rated water and dust resistance and offers an ARAI-certified range of 230 Km.
