- Facelift features new LED headlamps grille and updated bumper design
- Expected to retain 1.5-litre petrol engine with 121 PS and 145 Nm

Exterior Design Updates

The most significant changes are visible at the front of the 2026 Honda City. The facelifted model features redesigned LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights (DRLs). A new Honda logo sits on the bonnet, while the grille now displays a layered horizontal mesh pattern. The grille stretches more cleanly between the headlamps, giving the sedan a wider and more upright appearance.
The lower bumper has also been updated. It now includes new angular inserts at the edges and a cleaner central air intake. These changes give the City a more premium and mature look while maintaining its familiar silhouette. The side profile remains largely unchanged, but new alloy wheel designs are expected for higher variants. At the rear, revised tail lamp detailing and a refreshed bumper layout are likely.
Interior and Feature Enhancements

Interior updates for the 2026 City are expected to be limited, as the next-generation model is not due until around 2028. However, Honda may introduce new features to keep the City competitive against rivals such as the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus. Expected additions include a 360-degree camera, updates to the infotainment system, and enhanced connected car features.
The current Honda City already offers strong safety equipment. Standard features include six airbags, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and the Honda SENSING ADAS suite. Honda SENSING provides adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation, and auto high beam assist.
Engine and Mechanical Details
The 2026 Honda City facelift is expected to continue with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces 121 PS and 145 Nm of torque. Transmission options will remain a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. Honda is not expected to make major mechanical changes with this update. The focus is on refreshed design and improved features to maintain the City’s position in the mid-size sedan segment.
The current Honda City is priced from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It competes with the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.
