Ola About To Unveil Gen 3 Scooters: Check Progress From Gen 1 to Gen 3
Get to know about Ola Electric's transformative journey through its first and second-generation scooters, leading up to the groundbreaking Gen 3 models launching in January 2025.
In recent years, Ola Electric has produced a number of electric scooter generations, each with its own set of successes and setbacks. Earlier Ola was solely dominating the Indian electric scooter scene but later faced little struggles. But they are quick to act and working on improving their scooters and brand in each aspect whether it’s technology or after sales service or dealerships. Ola Electric's total retail sales as of mid-December 2024 exceeded 7,77,118 units.
Now they are planning to launch Gen 3 scooters with new upgrades so let’s see how Ola electric has evolved over the years with Gen 1, Gen 2 and now Gen 3.
First Generation
Ola started their electric two wheeler journey in 2021 with the release of its first generation of electric scooters. It had better power, range and battery compared to other scooters in the market. People were buying the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro and you can clearly see Ola scooters on the road in all tier cities. Customer satisfaction was impacted by the initial rollout's difficulties, which included production delays and quality control problems.
Second Generation
Introduced in 2023, the second generation was ready to rectify the original generation's flaws. Better battery technology, higher-quality construction, and extra features. Which includes greater connection and better safety systems. Ola Electric was able to strengthen its position in the electric scooter market because of this generation's greater market acceptability.
Upcoming Third Generation
In January 2025, Ola Electric plans to introduce its third generation of electric scooters. Which is coming up with significant improvements with the Gen 3 platform. It will have integrated single-board electronics, a magnet-less motor, and better battery utilization. It is anticipated that these advances would lower production costs by 20% and increase performance by 26%. New models under the S2 and S3 sub-brands will be part of the Gen 3 portfolio, which will serve both the mass-market and luxury markets.
