Royal Enfield has long been a leader in the motorcycle segment, particularly dominating the 300cc to 500cc range. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has become a phenomenon in this segment, and a major update to this model is on the horizon. Leaked information reveals exciting details about the updated Classic 350, which promises to enhance its appeal and maintain its position as India's number one classic bike.

Updated Royal Enfield Classic 350

As India's leading classic motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield offers a comprehensive range of models, including the 350cc, 450cc, and 650cc categories. The Classic 350, in particular, continues to top the sales charts, solidifying its status as the company's best-selling model.

Despite its unparalleled riding experience, the Classic 350 has sometimes lagged behind its rivals in terms of equipment and features. To address this, Royal Enfield plans to unveil the updated Classic 350 on August 12th in Mumbai, introducing new variants and enhancements.

New Variants and Features

The updated Royal Enfield Classic 350 will be available in several variants: Heritage, Heritage Premium, Signals, Dark, and Classic Chrome. Notably, the updated model will feature LED headlights, tail lights, and pilot lamps as standard for the first time.

Only the top variants, such as Dark and Classic Chrome, will come with LED turn indicators as standard; these will be optional for other variants. Similarly, adjustable brake and clutch levers will be standard on the Dark and Classic Chrome variants. A gear position indicator and a Type-C USB charger will be standard across all variants.

Expectation

There is speculation that the lower trims might feature drum brakes at the rear with single-channel ABS to keep the entry-level price competitive. Additionally, only the Dark variants are expected to come with alloy wheels and tubeless tires as standard, with these options available as add-ons for the other trims.

Specification and Pricing

Apart from these incremental updates, the updated Royal Enfield Classic 350 will continue to utilise the same J-platform as its predecessor. The J-Series 349cc engine, delivering 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque, will remain, paired with the familiar 5-speed gearbox. There is anticipation for the inclusion of a slipper clutch with this update.

The componentry, such as RSU telescopic front forks, twin-shock rear setup, and the 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, will remain unchanged. A price hike is expected, with the base price anticipated to be closer to the Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. The launch is scheduled for August 12th, 2024.
